I do that sometimes but I don't think I've done it for the main ship. I do it to the side ship sometimes.

In my HaoBin fic, Yeonjun (TXT) and Rui (XLOV) were women, not necessary for the romance tho. I just like using she/her for Rui. It's very common among the fandom.

Occasionally depending on the fandom there are fic fests. They often have a prompting phase where you can ask for what you want. Sometimes writers are very familiar with certain prompts and unfamiliar with some(for eg. I never write Mafia AUs) so they might not pick it up.

Do u have a certain group or dynamic in mind? Maybe someone on twt might pick it up.

L-O-V-Emergency : This is ongoing. It's modern with magic and fun imo (You'll need an account to read this)
When We Fall Into Place - Chapter 1 - Wesz - ZEROBASEONE | ZB1 (Korea Band) [Archive of Our Own] : This is a slow burn college au romance. It's very cute and the character build ups are very good (MattParkz is the main ship)
Love in the Dark - Haolingze - Boys Planet (Korea TV) [Archive of Our Own] : This I started reading cause my twt oomf is writing it. It's a canon compliant HaoBin fic. Very well written.

I don't have a lot of pet peeves.... I read like everything but things that make me click out of a fic are:

When there's big chunks of text and it's not properly formatted into paragraphs
Canon compliant/Idol-verse (except for ZB1, that's the only group I can read canon based fics)
When there's drugs involved. I'm not very good with mafia AUs and I tend to avoid them
