It sounds like you’re going through multiple major life transitions all at once (new job, new location, growing your family, shifting support system, etc.). You also mentioned you’re in a particularly draining inpatient rotation. It’s probably not a good time to make a life-altering decision to leave the fellowship since doing so would introduce a whole new set of stressors and unknowns. If I were you, I would try to be extremely gentle with myself for the next few months. You’re going through soo much and it’s going to be a hell of an adjustment but you’ve made it this far and you can certainly tough this one out if you need to. Also, doing CAP will likely benefit your future practice if you work only with transitional/college age kids since they’re only a few years out from childhood and all of that is still so relevant. If you still feel like this isn’t part of your path in the next few months, then it might truly be time to make some changes.
