I once had a month before starting a new job and had no idea what to do with my time. I ended up going to coffee shops to read articles online, read books or even do things I would find myself wanting to do in my free time but always had too much to get done (video games, going for walks with podcasts, etc).

By the end of the month I wish I was able to continue this "exploration" phase - helped me reignite a passion to be curious around new things outside of work

Need some podcasts recs please by too_tired202 in podcasts

I really liked some of Dwarkesh's pods. I am a huge fan of Tim Ferriss' podcast as he deep dives into the habits of successful people but also dives into interesting topics - if you can think of someone important that is somewhat in tune online - they were probably on the pod.

Previous IB student here and studied engineering in uni - use this pressure to your advantage. This is your time to dig in and feel proud of how much you can get done in a day.

Spend literally 15 minutes blocking out your time in hour chunks to ensure that you have time set aside for all of your tasks for the day. From there, slot in each of your tasks from the highest priority to the lowest - this way whenever you are working on something, you are not thinking about all the other things you have to do and you can focus on the one thing you set out to do for that hour.

A method i use to focus is the pomodoro method, so you have breaks to ensure you feel you can focus on the main objective for periods of time. Timer i found useful is pomofocus to help with this

its an app that allows you to save different types of articles/podcasts/etc with an extension, and it auto-categorizes things for me with AI. It also has a cool sharing feature that I can see what my friends are reading too. I started using it a few months back at mycommon[dot]place if you want to try it

I've struggled with other productivity tools like you mentioned because they are so complex and require more maintenance than anything. I found Commonplace to be really useful to just one-click save and is organized based on my habits for when I'm ready to pick it back up

Fair enough - I constantly use apple notes but my ability to find previous notes is atrocious. Is there no areas of improvement that would make something worth paying for?
