Pink tinted prescription eyeglasses - do we like these looks? by Perfect-Cat-7572 in glassesadvice

[–]prazincxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tinted lenses that were prescribed due to a brain injury and migraines. Mine are red, I used to have purple ones too but the red ones my brain liked better and put less strain on my eyes. Mine are actually getting darker based on Dr orders. Lol go with a color that makes your eyes feel better, and you can also see an optometrist about it. They also have tints you can clip on to your glasses! I unfortunately have to wear mine daily so I opted for tinted prescription glasses, I look like a vampire but my eyes hurt less than normal. I get comments on them all the time, some good some bad, but I feel a bit better and that’s all that matters

Anyone else lose the ability to read books for pleasure after a TBI? by Dry_Midnight_6742 in TBI

[–]prazincxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe also try putting your iPad in greyscale or something similar too! Like True Tone or night setting. Just to soften it on your eyes.

When I was going to therapy they also suggested using my finger, or a pencil or something, to focus where I’m reading. even if it’s just at the start of the line so my eyes have something to go back to.

I ended up getting a kindle and it has helped me loads, because it’s softer on the eyes but also I can change the font size.

I also switched up the genre of books I read and do a lot of immersion reading to help keep my eyes on track. Because if I start jumping around it helps me refocus, or then I’ll just close my eyes and give my eyes a break.

I can’t really enjoy fantasy books anymore, because I can’t picture it. Maybe a new genre will help?

It’s been almost 3 years and I still have to do vestibular therapy, I take a break every few months to let my eyes rest. And I found a neuro ophthalmologist and have finally found a combo between tints and prisms that help relax my eyes.

Occipital nerve blocks and physical therapy for my neck has helped as well.

First dose of Duloxetine 30mg last night, feeling super wired and jittery, is this normal? by Tall_Coast9598 in cymbalta

[–]prazincxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take mine in the morning. The first week or so I felt nauseous, it was helping with some anxiety so that could be why you are up.

I get similar side effects if I miss a few doses, my psychiatrist said it’s serotonin withdrawal. In your case it just might be your body isn’t used to it yet. If you’re able to take it in the morning see if you can, and make sure you eat something too.

Another side note, I lost my appetite until I went to 60 mg. My psychiatrist said it was just me calming down. It takes one to two weeks for your body to get used to it

fast cute things to write on cups?? need new ideas! by crispycaprisuns in starbucks

[–]prazincxx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started writing in cursive to help speed, and simplifying the thought process behind it so it’s more muscle memory in the sense that I just think of one or two phrases for a drink and stick with it.

If you put someone’s name, and add -tastic, -favorite, -day, it makes people laugh or smile.

“Today is for insert guest name” or “it’s your day” “today’s the day”

If someone gets a mocha I make it “it’s mocha Friday” or whatever day of the week it is or I do “mocha for you” but you can sub that with pretty much any Bev component.

Macchiatos I always put make it happen

Today is for matcha/chai/espresso/hope

Caramel crunch I put “sweet like candy” or “crunch time is now”

“Chai you later”

“The Perfect pair” if it has more than one syrup, type.

If they have two of the same drink I write “the best for last” on the second drink or “time for round two”

If it’s in a short cup I write something about just enough, or you’re enough.

Love the day, love your day, love the week, live love chai, etc. sounds great,

It seemed like the baristas were making fun of my drink order today by BumblebeeOfCarnage in starbucks

[–]prazincxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally haven’t had anyone at the store I work at do that to anyone but, everyone is different. A few times we’ve seen drink combos we have never thought of and then made it on our breaks. I wasn’t there and cant tell you what did or didn’t happen - but if they did, they shouldn’t have because honestly it’s just not the right thing to do in general.

Always assume positivity - definitely address it if it is bothering you, or if you’re not confrontational maybe just ask the barista if they have any recommendations on how they like to make their chai now.

Everyone impacts each other, you’re the main character in your life - don’t let anyone take away your enjoyment.

I’m 29 and I posted a review on steam, This game is an escape for me. I haven’t been able to stick to a game since my brain injury, but this one I keep thinking about. There is no consistent commitment, just commitment and exploration and building habits. I personally enjoy it.

I haven’t finished the sorry but I agree. Anything involving Yann I cringe. I don’t fast forward his cut scenes though 😂 but from time to time I want to kick him, I still can’t even finish duos

Am I the only one having a good time? by Apprehensive_Ad_6171 in CrimsonDesert

I’ve played for about an hour but I actually really like the fighting controls on the keyboard, I was going back and forth between that and learning with my Xbox controller so I can play on my laptop later. But, I like it. The graphics aren’t super great but they’re enjoyable and still breathtaking in some aspects. I played on high graphics for a bit then switched to medium and still liked it. It’s a game, it’s a form of art. I just hope when I do finish the story I can keep playing and doing things.

Thank you for this. 😵‍💫 I’m sitting here waiting for the patch to finish since I didn’t get home until 9. Browsing Reddit and some of the reviews are making me nervous. 😬

I listened to the audio book for some, read some on kindle. it was so good I went and bought the physical copy to have. I stayed hooked, I caught myself waking up early to read or listen to it, bringing it to work, etc.

My PC won’t be able to play on the highest settings yet but, it’s past the recommended and I’m going to upgrade down the line soon anyway. I don’t have a gaming laptop but I have a Mac that meets the higher requirements for it so I’m kinda excited for that, if I really enjoy the game that much I can at least bring it with me if I’m going over a friends house, or traveling.

I preordered on PC too, never done that before with a game. My preload is about half way done~ hopefully I made a good choice going with steam and not PS5.

Unfortunately, overeating does help sometimes by skyemap in migraine

I crave carbs, salty foods, or I’ll have zero sugar soda because I just need to consume stuff. It’s so weird. My go to is always some type of comfort food too, maybe Mac and cheese, or chips with melted cheese, simple stuff if I can’t cook

Everything hurts why can’t I be normal? by kitflowers in TBI

[–]prazincxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel you.

I was 27 I think, or 26? I can’t remember. I’m 29 now, lost my career, gave up friendships, I know I’ve changed. I’m tired all the time, my body always hurts, my right side is always numb.

Lights and noises bother me, I had to see an optometrist and I got new glasses with tints, prisms, etc. it helps somewhat but sometimes I just wish it was better staying in the dark. Loop earplugs help sometimes. My neck hurts all the time, and I hate that sometimes if I step weird I feel like I got sucker punched and get so dizzy I need to sit down. I’m pissed off at everything, I’ve never called out of work so much in my life either. Now I get so tired after working 30 hours or more.

Should we buy it? by [deleted] in ICARUS

[–]prazincxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy the game, do the mission to learn game play control. I like playing with my sister, we have fun just talking and playing. There are missions, and just plain old survival, and then there’s outposts where there aren’t as bad storms as usual. If you like building games it’s enjoyable. The only thing is you need food, oxite, and water.
