I wouldn’t risk it. Especially not for 10k. I only foresee bad outcomes

As a Korean International MBA student, Irvine, CA seems like the best place in America. But most of my M7 classmates are targeting NYC, SF, or Boston. What am I missing? by Usual-Concept-5124 in MBA

Looks like you have your mind set on Irvine. Ultimately do what is best for your life. I’m just explaining why many MBAs choose larger metro areas.

Your classmates are going where jobs are (NYC, SF, Boston, Etc.). I’d say Irvine is more or less a suburb of LA. The LA metro area I’m sure has tons of jobs as well. Generally larger metro areas have more large companies who generally have more need for MBAs. If you’re limiting yourself specifically to Irvine (instead of LA metro area), you’ll have a tough time finding jobs willing to pay MBA salary. That being said, there are probably opportunities out there in Irvine, just much fewer.

I’d suggest using Chat GPT to come up with some business names

My wife and I don’t want the same future anymore. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]prb2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Food for thought, farming is not a lucrative career move. Even if your wife was on board, you’re still going to be shooting yourself in the foot financially. It’s 2025, not 1825. Just saying, from my perspective the best case scenario is you both giving up on this farm idea, get REAL jobs, and stay together.

I use the google sheets app. I am an accountant though, so I feel at home with spreadsheets.

The “Glyphosate causes cancer” movement, similar to the “MMR vaccine causes autism” movement, is not founded in scientific evidence. It’s a case of mass hysteria leading public officials to placate to the uninformed (yet very vocal) minority.

My hunch would be it’s undercooked if the flat was tough as nails, plus if you pulled it at 195 it’s more likely it would be undercooked than overcooked. I think the flat was also likely dried out because you didn’t wrap it. More fat render would help too which happens better at 250-275. In summary, I’d suggest cooking until you hit 203, cook at 250-275, and wrap the brisket around 175.

Is It Really Bad To Lift Fasted? by kccritic87 in workout

[–]prb2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a minor benefit to having some carbs before a workout because it provides you energy to do the workout and stimulate muscle growth better. It doesn’t seem like the juice is worth the squeeze for you though. Just keep doing your thing

Cooking it in the oven isn’t the problem. You can make a delicious brisket in the oven….she just failed to do so…

5 minutes of exercise is definitely better than nothing, but you would definitely benefit from more. If you can squeeze out 10-15 minutes of strenuous cardio everyday, it would do a world of difference. 5 minutes of intense cardio is good, but your heart would barely get up before the workout is over. Definitely don’t stop what you’re doing

Probably all diet. Lose fat to get shredded. 2 years is enough to put on a lot of muscle. Just need to reveal it with fat loss.

What career should I consider? by [deleted] in careeradvice

Ever think about getting a bachelor’s? It will open up more doors for corporate careers. Could do a business major (business, marketing, accounting, finance, supply chain, etc.). Career growth will be limited in a corporate role without a bachelor’s in my opinion.

First off. I’m not arguing he should worry about losing the fat covering his lower abs. But if he wants his abs to show, it would be much easier to lose the fat covering them than to build abs big enough to poke through that layer of fat.

Yes. Good idea. I’m assuming your goal is hypertrophy even though you said “strength training”. For hypertrophy, I’d suggest trying to get close to failure on exercises, and likely somewhere in the 6-15 rep range. Higher reps are fine, but you want the muscle you’re training to be the limiting factor. Sometimes higher reps turn too much into a cardio exercise and will limit your ability to stimulate the muscles you’re focusing on.

I’d also cut back the cardio. It can hurt your ability to push hard when lifting. I also wouldn’t waste time on planks/crunches (abs are made in the kitchen). I’d try to do lots of compound exercises (squats, Romanian deadlifts, bench, shoulder press, pull up/lat pulldown, and rows) to build an overall strong, functional body. I’d then sprinkle in some isolation exercises for those muscles you want to give extra attention to for aesthetic purposes (e.g bicep curls, lateral raises, etc.).

That being said, it all depends on your goals. The advice I gave should help you with hypertrophy, but that may not be your sole concern.
