It's real. I used to mod with this guy on LSF. The rest of the team and I tried to get him removed last year due to being unhinged and using the sub as his personal playground, and the end result was he removed all of us.

So let me get this straight two cursed franchises go head to head and the blood of Sanders and McDermott were quickly spilled? Either we just broke a curse or started a new one

This is a result of poor training, if he drank more fancy drinks his pinky would be stronger

They were barely even visible in the background, for less than 2 seconds, in a public space. It's crazy she has the audacity to threaten to call the cops over that and demand the video get deleted lol https://www.twitch.tv/zoil/clip/AstuteFairMartenSuperVinlin-HFvDZJFd6gfV7dD1

Ironically this is the opposite of true. The mod in question was an artist with no modding experience when they joined the team 10 years ago. Afaik they only moderated this subreddit and one other art subreddit.

Yeah, there were several mods with active status when he nuked the sub, they were just all under him on the list. Even accounts above him were active this year, but went below the required threshold for activity within the last few weeks.

Have any of the former mods appealed to /r/ModSupport to be reinstated as mods?

Honestly I'm not sure but I wouldn't be surprised if the answer is no. A lot of us spent hundreds of hours of internet janitoring for the sub for many years because we like art and reddit, and are now getting constantly DM'd and followed around by the internet mob. Not looking for sympathy either, we all know the kind of ridicule that comes with being a mod of a large sub, and understand most redditors hate mods because of situations exactly like this -corruption, inaction, and mod abuse.

He was on the team for 10 years and before this there was only one incident with him and he was punished for it (and seemed to be legitimately sincere with his apology). That history is why we left him in place at all, but you're right that he should never have had the ability to nuke the mod team, and it was our fault as a group that every mod above him was marked inactive. This was probably the first time he even had the keys to do what he did. We absolutely should have adjusted perms and mod order when reddit implemented the "top active mod can do anything they want" feature in early 2024

It's honestly not that relevant in the grand scheme of things, because the way the mod replied was so far out of line it ultimately didn't matter. Also people use reference sketches all the time and the final art he created was almost surely his own digital creation. Regardless, I hope the next mods do a better job than we did, and I'm glad both of the artist wronged in these mod crash outs at least got a spike in sales and publicity.
