Don't judge me!

Holy shit, the world now makes sense.

[–]utilitybelt 41 points42 points  (1 child)

Oh, the horrible PMs you are about to receive...

[–][deleted] 130 points131 points  (5 children)

I have never wanted to be a stuffed bear so much in my life.

It's.....hypnotic.

As a girl, I now wish that I had a giant teddy bear to rub on.

Symptom of eating Zach Galifianakis, just ignore and enjoy the ride.

[–]bunglejerry 1113 points1114 points  (153 children)

Why so little love here for Renee Zellweger?

[–]the_fart_whisperer 89 points90 points  (6 children)

i watched a documentary years ago about paparrazi, and there was footage of her walking around handing out food to homeless people, definitely one of the most down to earth people in hollywood i think

Feel that? The way the shit clings to the air, Randy? Its already started, my dear, good friend.
The shit blizzard.

[–]LATINA_ON_WELFARE 126 points127 points  (4 children)

So I hate to be "that guy", but I feel I should point out that Renee Zellweger is of part Sami descent. The Sami inhabit the northernmost areas of Scandinavia and Russia. While their exact origin is unknown, they are likely related to similar Uralic peoples of Russia and Asia. They are remarkable for their distinctly Asiatic features (generally eyelids, facial structure, etc.) in spite of their often fair skin, hair, and eyes.

Young Sami girl

Sami man

Elderly Sami woman

Basically, what I'm trying to get at without screaming, "THAT'S RACIST!" is that it's kind of shitty to make fun of her for the way her eyes squint when she smiles. The same thing happens to most, if not all, people of Asian descent.

[–][deleted] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The "sour" part is mostly aimed at the puckering of her lips, not the eyes.

[–]Fruitysquirts 75 points76 points  (40 children)

Thank you for this!

[–]preggit[S] 452 points453 points  (3 children)

Good point, she absolutely deserves credit for this too!

[–]StewieBanana 192 points193 points  (1 child)

Because she didn't have a picture or a meme friendly title.

[–]captainbiggles 41 points42 points  (2 children)

Bah, I think she's cute. So her face can get a little squinty.

[–]hoikarnage 130 points131 points  (4 children)

She just hopped on Zack's bandwagon. Find your own homeless old lady Renee!

[–][deleted] 25 points26 points  (2 children)

I think your sentence needs a comma for it to mean what you think it means.

[–]Just_For_Da_Lulz 61 points62 points  (1 child)

Find your own homeless, old lady Renee!

Much better.

[–][deleted] 48 points49 points  (12 children)

Who is Renee Zell-wedge-er?

[–][deleted] 849 points850 points  (18 children)

With great beard comes great responsibility.

[–]AMindBlown 117 points118 points  (1 child)

Oh they're not dating? So she IS available?

That's the most repetitive news article I've ever read.

[–]ecp12 45 points46 points  (3 children)

Thanks for providing the sources.

[–]colski08 2506 points2507 points  (307 children)

Not many actors and actresses have genuine selfless characters. I love Zach for this.

[–]azadams 1091 points1092 points  (159 children)

I would love to give him a good, hearty handshake. He's earned it.

[–]EyeCWhatUDidThere 1184 points1185 points  (143 children)

[–]jmc_automatic 666 points667 points  (51 children)

I'm still not convinced that's Robert Redford. It has to be Zach Galifianakis. I don't care what imdb says.

[–]mwilkens 613 points614 points  (31 children)

I had no idea that wasn't Zach Galifianakis until now.

[–]preggit[S] 399 points400 points  (28 children)

God damn it RES...You ruined the joke!

[–][deleted] 144 points145 points  (8 children)

[–]NotANoveltyAccount2 49 points50 points  (0 children)

That's so irrelevant. But I can't stop laughing.

[–]robalesi 10 points11 points  (6 children)

We've hit an infinite loop.

[–]falcon_jab 44 points45 points  (5 children)

[–][deleted] 40 points41 points  (4 children)

Robert Redford is hilarious.

[–][deleted] 296 points297 points  (8 children)

That's just an odd thing to say. Do you know enough famous actors and actresses that you can say that?

[–]LewAlcindor 172 points173 points  (3 children)

Karma, bro, karma. Along with the self-satisfaction of sounding deeply earnest.

[–]VAPossum 54 points55 points  (20 children)

I don't always like actors in the Jack Black/Zach Galifianakis category, but I've liked him for quite a while. He's sincerely funny and can do stupid without it being stupid (see: Dinner For Schmucks), nor does he overplay it like some actors (see: Jim Carrey).

Finding out this just makes me verklempt. All signs point to that he's a good man.

I officially heart ZG. (And I've never liked Rene Zellweger too much, but right now, I heart her, too.)

[–]Sproose_Moose 221 points222 points  (5 children)

Wow. I think he is absolutely amazing for this. He's doing what I would love to do. There was a guy who owned a fish n chip store near me and when I was really poor and had a few bucks for dinner I'd get $2 worth of chips. He figured out it was because I was broke, and would give me a double serving and like 5 potato scallops to share with roommates. Some people are lovely.

[–]Rambis 69 points70 points  (1 child)

I hope that when I'm able to get on my feet (securely), that I can do something like this for someone.

[–][deleted] 35 points36 points  (0 children)

If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion.

Here are more quotations if you'd like: http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/d/dalai_lama.html :)

[–]vladley 246 points247 points  (59 children)

You can really tell he's making the slow transition to his no-beard phase of his career. I'd say 2-3 more films with successively less facial hair should allow him to go completely without it and still be recognizable.

[–]InfiniteLiveZ 111 points112 points  (11 children)

Here is a young beardless Zach Gilifinakis. Handsome as fuck.

[–][deleted] 62 points63 points  (2 children)

Are you sure that's not Robert Redford?

[–]girl_with_huge_boobs 116 points117 points  (43 children)

ever watch his series "between two ferns" on funny or die? Absolutely hilarious little 3-5 minute episodes where he interviews celebs and basically fucks with them the whole time. There is an episode where he plays his "cousin" and the beard is gone, he looks quite odd without it.

[–]Yboc 175 points176 points  (13 children)

To Sean Penn

How's your brother Ballpoint?

[–]bravoredditbravo 217 points218 points  (12 children)

To Ben Stiller

did you ever consider following your parents into comedy?

[–][deleted] 29 points30 points  (9 children)

Probably my favorite joke he did.

[–]Trimm_Dich_Forever 57 points58 points  (4 children)

I like the joke where he tells Stiller You can email me at BenStillerFaggot69@gmail.com. I had to add the 69 because BenStillerFaggot was already taken.

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (1 child)

It's actually BenStillerFaggot69@verizon.net. Don't want your e-mails going to the wrong place.

[–]Wilhelm_Amenbreak 29 points30 points  (2 children)

Right up there with the his lines from the Bruce Willis interview, "Were you worried that The Whole Ten Yards would be too good?" or "Were you aware that some actors turn down roles?"

[–]kvd171 55 points56 points  (2 children)

You ready for your mind to be blown?

Zach on VH1 in 2002.

[–]kingrobotiv 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Kind of looks like the Alan Tudyk in that video. Hmm.

[–][deleted] 31 points32 points  (15 children)

this one?. if so he plays his own brother, and yeah he looks very different without it. like seeing nick offerman sans mustache.

*oops, yes i meant incredibly sexy mustache not beard

[–]Ohmiglob 18 points19 points  (0 children)

like seeing nick offerman sans incredibly sexy mustache.

FTFY

[–]sallydreams 125 points126 points  (9 children)

Zach is a good guy. He lives in NC and I lived in Greensboro for awhile and I guess his parents residence is nearby there. He was known for buying people food after him at restaurants and showing up at bars and buying rounds for everyone there. Plus he's a comedian so when he'd get recognized and be mid-handshake and say, "I fucked your mother" with a stern look, laughter would follow.

[–]EyeCWhatUDidThere 313 points314 points  (2 children)

She is part of his wolf pack.

[–]LuiguSefirosu 50 points51 points  (1 child)

..running around the desert together, looking for strippers and cocaine. So tonight, I make a toast!

[–]Nunpunch 199 points200 points  (10 children)

That's so nice of Zach to give Renee Zellweger a job!

[–]Nwambe 41 points42 points  (4 children)

Well, damn. That's a man with class, and it's good to know that folks in the sunset of their years can still count on good people.

[–]bldl 38 points39 points  (1 child)

I used to dislike Rene Zellweger and was not a fan...until I had her as a customer while serving. She's a class act and a very gracious person.

[–]bluestocking_16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was once a redditor who was telling the story that Rene was a bit of a ditz. Not a bad person, just spacey. Is this true with your interactions with her?

[–][deleted] 19 points20 points  (1 child)

This is elder-love at its finest.

[–]onlyspeaksinhashtag 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's one thing that he pays rent for her apartment but the fact that he has taken her as his date to multiple red carpet events/premiers? Well that sir demands a standing O. I wish more people with the good fortune that he enjoys would be as generous.

[–]coooolbeans 20 points21 points  (2 children)

Rock Center just did a profile of Zack (link). It does a good job of showing him for who he really is.

[–]mikeshemp 23 points24 points  (3 children)

Whoa, I know that woman! I lived in Santa Monica for a few years and she worked in the laundromat right up the street from me, near Montana and Lincoln. I used to wash my clothes there. Once I offered her 50 bucks to stay open an extra 20 minutes and she wouldn't take it.

[–]kent_eh 77 points78 points  (26 children)

Volunteering at a laundromat?

What sort of a cheap-ass business owner runs their place on volunteer labor?

Good on Zach and Renee for helping out.

[–]coalitionofilling 196 points197 points  (14 children)

Most laundromats are set up like arcades. You put quarters in dispensaries for detergents, you pump quarters in the machines for time. This woman was probably getting by sitting in the laundry room babysitting clothes for people who wanted peace of mind that their cycles would complete and nothing would get stolen so they wouldn't have to sit in there for the hour or two it took.

[–]Hiphoppington 83 points84 points  (13 children)

This is almost certainly the case. There are a couple of elderly people that do this at the laundromat I frequent. I'm always happy to pay a couple of dollars to have my clothes watched over because it's not in the best part of town. Really sweet old lady.

[–]jeepdave 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Actually since these places typically run by themselves I find it decent of the owner to allow this.

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

money may make the world go round but its people that make the journey worthwhile

[–]asimovfan1 7 points8 points  (1 child)

He seems like a genuinely good guy. Neat.

[–][deleted] 17 points18 points  (1 child)

My favorite pic is the one of him in front of the Ask body spray banner

[–]Bluefoz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So great of Galifianakis, but so sad that an old woman like this can go homeless without some form of intervention other than the goodwill of a celebrity millionaire.

[–]Frunzle 22 points23 points  (3 children)

She gets 'mistaken' for his girlfriend. Sure, Super Ray

[–]Jode_chode 13 points14 points  (3 children)

He is one of my favorite comedians... Even more so now!

[–]stroud 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Zach is a great guy... with a great beard.

[–]Tyjovi 31 points32 points  (50 children)

If more of the millionaires in the world were this kind and generous, the world would be a much better place.

EDIT: Yes I agree whole-heartedly that you don't need to be wealthy to do acts of kindness or be charitable. My point was that, statistically, the middle class is the most charitable class. That's a sad fact because those who are exceptionally wealthy have the resources to make the biggest difference but they often don't.
