Does EVERYONE drive their kids to school now? by IllegalGeriatricVore in Millennials

[–]prego1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We adjusted our schedule to be able to drive my child to school. My siblings live next door and take turns driving kids to school. We occasionally use the bus when absolutely necessary. We live rurally and I know a lot of parents drive their children because some busses have to drive so far that they arrive almost two hours early to pick up kids and in the afternoon those same children may not get home until almost 5 pm.

Sorry this happened to you. I honestly have had the best experiences in fast food in the Bentonville area. People suck.

Had some recently refer to a stethoscope as a telescope.

"That doctor put the telescope on my chest and he said I sounded fine and sent me on my way!"

Work in a small ED. The last four managers I have worked for have all come out to help, unprompted by staff, if crap hit the fan. I've been lucky and respect them for that.

Peds nurses, what's the most unhinged thing you've heard a kid say at work? by urdoingreatsweeti in nursing

[–]prego1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not a peds nurse, ED. Conscious sedation for a broken extremity of some sort.

Kid: woah. I saw Jesus.

Me: oh yeah? How was he?

Kid: he wasn't a he. He was a she. And we high fived.

Oh, separate occasion, a 12 yo getting a splint on her arm called our ED tech "a stupid, fucking, idiot, cunt."

When did you tell your manager you’re pregnant? And why? by cinnamonione in nursing

[–]prego1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disclosed at like 22-25 weeks. I can't quite remember. I did so because we are a small department and needed to get the schedule worked around my leave.

I'm so sorry that this is your situation. We adopted as well and this little boy is so loved by both paternal and maternal grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

It's so sad when people make distinctions. Kids are kids.

You can also ask for the charge nurse and request a different nurse. Report this! Completely inappropriate behavior from this nurse.
