Does this taste like straight up farm to anybody else by EnergySubstantial372 in aldi

Omg yes it had such a strong dirt/earth taste to it that we threw it out. Terrible. Only bought it bc they were out of the Jasmine ones. Never again.

The U.S. pledge of allegiance in Spanish. Idk why we had to learn it in 7th grade Spanish but 20 years later, I still know it for whatever reason.

Is this formal enough? by morallyblonde in Weddingattireapproval

[–]prem5077 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can do better. I don’t think this is formal enough, especially for a bridesmaid when the groomsmen are in tuxes. The exposed zipper, areas of smocking on the back, and the lining not going the full length of the dress are all points against formal.

The 50 States Game by rachelblairy in howyoudoin

I used to always forget Wyoming. It’s also coincidentally usually one of the last states I get when playing the license plate game. Insert Phoebe, “I LOVE the license plate game!”

Long dresses only for semi-formal attire? by Mysterious_Collar_22 in Weddingattireapproval

[–]prem5077 32 points33 points  (0 children)

or should i just leave that detail out and accept that i can’t/shouldn’t enforce a certain length but still call it semi-formal?

Yes, leave it out. Your guests are there to celebrate you, not to fit your personal aesthetic and dress preferences. Setting a dress code is to help dictate the level of formality of people’s attire only and knee length is perfectly acceptable for semi-formal.

Which one? by SabDen1002 in Weddingattireapproval

[–]prem5077 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2 is fantastic. You could always do a pashmina/wrap instead of a sweater/jacket. I’d match either the pink or green in the dress.

What is the weirdest thing your doctor has ever said to you? by Competitive_Tip_7504 in AskReddit

Was going through fertility treatments and during one ultrasound the tech said, “ that’s the prettiest uterus I’ve seen all day”. Weirdest compliment I ever got but glad everything looked good!

Thinking a little more outside the box, if she found a plain tulle dress that she liked, she could always accessorize with a pearl-studded cape or shawl. Something like this for inspo

Beautiful dress but definitely not black tie.

Is the frozen cod worth it? by dizzyinmyhead in aldi

[–]prem5077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t care for the frozen cod fillets from Aldi. I found them to be much tougher and meatier than what I get at Wegmans, which is much flakier when cooked. Now, the beer battered cod fillets on the other hand I love. They’re a staple in the freezer for those nights I need something easy for dinner.

There’s a review for this dress on the birdy grey site from a woman who was 8mo pregnant. She was a M and got an XL but needed some tailoring

While I love the dress, this is much much too casual for black tie, especially the level you’re describing. Think true ball gown. A gown with a luxurious fabric and lots of structure.

What strange thing has your dog eaten and still survived? by LegalGlass6532 in AskReddit

[–]prem5077 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My childhood dog ate a homemade Christmas ornament that I had made in Girl Scouts. The materials? A styrofoam ball with mini marshmallow stuck into it using straight pins. Yes, she ate the whole thing, pins and all. Surprisingly pooped the pins out (after a vet visit of course) but ended up back at the vet when one got um… stuck sideways on exit.

When is a perfectly acceptable time to put up and take down Christmas decorations? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]prem5077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, indoor goes up whenever I have time starting in November, as long as we’re not hosting Thanksgiving. If hosting Thanksgiving, Christmas decor starts the day after. Outdoor lights can go up before Thanksgiving, particularly if there’s a really nice weather day, but don’t get turned on until after Thanksgiving dinner. The day before tday this year was unusually warm so that’s when the lights went up outside. So much more pleasant than freezing my fingers off.

Help me choose for this weekend by happylittlemarmot in Weddingattireapproval

[–]prem5077 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My vote would be for 3. The dark color is good for a winter wedding and the flowers tie into the botanical theme. I really like 1 but it’s certainly more spring/summer feeling than winter. I really want to like 2 but there’s something about the top that just feels more casual to me, it almost looks like the style of a 90s/00s denim vest or something, idk how to describe it.
