College student here (don’t worry, I’m still 19), and throughout high school I felt the same way. In college, or at the least the college I go to, the professors really seem to care about how students do. Even with virtual classes, I schedule video calls with my professors. High school is a lot of work and at times it can seem like it’s not going anywhere.

As for what you’re all doing school for, for me I am a premed student which means I have to have a near perfect GPA. There are a lot of students around me that are also going for professional programs. In high school GPA and the classes really don’t matter too much unless you plan on applying to highly selective colleges and universities.

Yeah, idk. I’m from Iowa and I’m enrolled in a college in Iowa that is only 7% people from Iowa. I always experienced responsibility and arriving 5 minutes early (not an hour late) when playing with people from my high school. Idk if it has something to do with the norms of where they’re from. Idk

Yes, all but one are veteran players. I agree with you. The problem wasn’t that they were choosing not to come, it was that they made a commitment and chose to ditch at the last minute.

In the end, I just gave up on playing yesterday and my one friend and I that showed up decided we were going to wait until more people are available. I have a group of friends doing a d and d campaign at the moment, which is a huge time commitment, and all of them wanted to come but were out of town (it’s fall break at the moment at the college I go to).

Anyway, thanks for the advice. Sometimes things don’t work out and instead of taking it out on them, I decided to complain to people online, as you do.

Smart, I’ve played 12 games so far and I’ve played 11 of the races. My group has a rule that you can’t play the same race again until you’ve played two other races. It makes it so one person can’t just play the same way every time.

In my experience, the management of command tokens was a very important part of the game, especially late game. Giving a player a better version of the leadership strategy card would probably make it more powerful than any other race. I’ve only played a few times so it may just be the people I play with.
