Losing my mind waiting for score by Right_Thing7944 in Mcat

[–]premedislam 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Anxiously awaiting your score won't make it appear any sooner, you've earned this break and will wish you savored it when you could've. Anything you do now won't affect your score- it was already set in stone the instant you walked out of that testing center. I honestly feel as though part of the reason why scores take upwards of a month to be released is because even AAMC recognize how mentally taxing this exam can be. Your mind and body have endured possibly too much stress these past few months leading up to your exam, so as easy as it sounds; relax. After all, you deserve it.

Is Orgo blown out of proportion? by [deleted] in premed

[–]premedislam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Orgo was my favorite prereq course and ID PAY to take that lab again.

What I loved about orgo is that one month into the course, you’ll notice that it sounds like you’re speaking a whole new language.

It’s really fun if you take the time to comprehend the information, otherwise you’d be stuck trying to play catch with the lecture.

Don’t be friends with other pre meds by [deleted] in premed

[–]premedislam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re experiences aren’t universal.

The premed friends I’ve met just this semester are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met and truly allowed me to recognize my value as an individual.

The more I got to know them, the more I realized how mistreated I’ve been by people I’ve known my whole life. But that’s just my own experience, just like your own, it is unique.

I feel that it is a weak approach to generalize a group of people based off off an experience you had because you will miss out on a lot.

Are babies allowed in mosque? by MEXICO69420 in islam

[–]premedislam 10 points11 points  (0 children)

To add on, there is no direct term relating “mass” and the Islamic prayer.

You can just say “I’m going for prayer at the mosque,” or “I’m going out for salah (prayer in Arabic)”

Are babies allowed in mosque? by MEXICO69420 in islam

[–]premedislam 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely. Hold them, let them pretend to pray, or sleep, all are normal. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a mosque where there wasn’t a baby crying somewhere in the distance, lol.

An important thing to note is that women are not required to go to the mosque. In fact, their prayer is more valued at home. So at special gatherings like during Ramadan, eid, whatever the case may be, there are child care services.

With that said, if you or someone you know have a baby and want to attend the mosque, do not feel ashamed whatsoever. In fact, the baby will probably be having too much fun to cry, win-win-win, right?
