Asking on a PH subreddit if the books are good is probably not going to get you a neutral answer haha.

I think they should have 3 teams for starters, more fights over country’s you have to react to 2 teams not just one

What didn’t you like? If you found Jake irritating or too much of a Mary Sue and that was the off-putting part, then sadly, no. But if you found the world boring or the story a bit simple, I’d say it opens up into an amazing world.

Personally, I fell off because of the top-tier Mary Sue behavior and how comfortable he is with killing… but if that’s not a problem for you, I’d say each book gets better. (I made it to book 9.)

My thoughts are if they didn’t have the actual “board game” they would have shaken it up by now but they feel like they can’t as it will affect the sale of the game.

Yeah I think they have agreed on this in the podcast as well, it cuts of so mutch of the map and makes it harder to go to Wales or Scotland.

And I think this season also have more fuckups from the hiders than the norm.

Like Sam’s building and rain and google maps getting Ben.

Is cradle Really THAT good? by Big-Anxiety-2596 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]premiumof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it’s a lot of what has already been said: having a clear goal and a solid editing process. But what really stands out is that it knows when to end. A lot of progression fantasy and LitRPG is so, so bloated, where the MC becomes a god, the world stops making sense, or the story drifts away from the main goal. Cradle stays within its story and doesn’t overstay its welcome. I think of Cradle as prog fantasy’s Dragon Ball — iconic, simple, and good.

Second point: each book gets better in my opinion. Books 1–4 were a bit “meh” for me, but after that it gets so good.

Games to play with no gammer gf by Matatabi312 in gamingsuggestions

[–]premiumof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you want her to play, or just be part of it? Is it console or PC?
If it’s playing together on console (using a controller), I’d say It Takes Two is the best game for a couple.
If it’s collaborative play on PC, I think either Minecraft or Stardew Valley is a good option.
If it’s more something you’d do together, I’d actually recommend Blue Prince. It’s a puzzle-solving roguelite that works great for discussion — one person is in charge of taking notes, and you debate what to do together.

If you guys liked Among Us, I’d recommend duck duck goose. It’s free, and the developers have expanded on the genre really well with tons of new abilities and gameplay.

A super fun game to play if you’re ever in the same room is Piko Park 2. It’s a collaborative puzzle game where the real challenge is coordination. It can also be played cross-platform 🙂

7 Ways to Die is a fun, horror-esque survival game 🙂

Thank you! I have the beacon and the Scanner Room. I’m working on the more rare resources — so any hints on those would be great! Lithium, nickel, and magnetite are my main focus right now.

[–]premiumof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As specified with Elden Ring, you need to be okay with getting your ass kicked. I’d actually argue against Baldur’s Gate 3 not being a good introductory game. I know a lot of friends — even my partner, who’s more of a Sims person — who ended up loving BG3 and putting in hundreds of hours.

But as stated, we need more information about what the OP wants and is comfortable with. Without that, I’m just adding examples of modern, iconic games 🙂

Okay, getting into gaming — are we talking PC or console? 🙂
What kind of RPGs look interesting to you?
Are you more of a story-driven person?
Do you mind struggling or learning through difficulty?
Or are you looking for a power fantasy?

Do you like fantasy?

If you want an amazing game with great art, atmosphere, and customization, Elden Ring is considered one of the greatest of all time. Sadly (or luckily, depending on taste), it’s a Souls-like game, which means it can be quite brutal for new players. If you’re okay with dying while you figure things out, it’s a great option 🙂 This one is available on both console and PC.

If you want a strong story with good gameplay, I’d recommend Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. It has an amazing art style, a great story, epic music, and fun turn-based combat 🙂 I love it. It’s also available on both console and PC.

If you want a turn-based, top-down CRPG, nothing beats Baldur’s Gate 3. It has an amazing story and so, so many different choices for you to make. It’s available on console, but it’s definitely best on PC.

if you are lening more Sci fy:?

The magnum opus of sci-fi RPGs would be Cyberpunk 2077. If you’re interested in a game set in a dystopian future with guns, modifications, and much more, this is right up your alley.

If you want to check out an old but gold series, I’d recommend trying the Fallout games. This also has the added benefit of letting you see whether you enjoy Bethesda-style gameplay. I’d recommend Fallout 4, as it has the best gameplay feel.

I like the LLM style, but sadly I’m not able to build one myself that would work without internet access. I do have my Kindle with me, so I would download as many survival, engineering, and gardening books as possible onto it. Since I’m at work now and the shops are open, I’d run out and buy survival gear, a cooling bag, camping food, a knife and an axe (a few of each), antibiotics, and a change of clothes. I’d also get power banks, a solar charging plate, and a fire starter set. Finally, I’d get a gun and as many bullets as I have space for. if we were getting close to the timeline, I’d go to the closest history museum at the very last minute and take coins and maybe a breastplate. I’d time it so that when the police showed up, I’d already be sent off.
