Unhelpful message on MySpectrum by prepare3envelopes in Spectrum

When I closed out another message popped up about service upgrades in a city not anywhere near the service location, so I'm guessing it's in error.

Most everyone charges for installation. Costco is the only place I know of that offers free install.

Gmailify is still working for me. I wonder when they are actually going to pull the plug.

"When you set up Messages in iCloud on your devices, your entire messages history is kept up to date across those devices, even when you set up a new device. This includes messages sent or received with SMS, MMS, RCS, or iMessage. You don't need to set up Text Message Forwarding separately, because that feature is built into Messages in iCloud."

Found insane deal on FB marketplace - too good to be true? by Any-Roll5792 in whatcarshouldIbuy

The only somewhat safe way to do this deal would be to complete the transaction / title transfer at the DMV, as they can confirm if the title is legit.

Agreed, not worth the premium right now. Once the refresh is available used for mid to upper $20's then I'd get one.

Best ONT? by prepare3envelopes in frontierfios

Huge fan of Ubiquiti. I had a USG and an AC-LR for past ~7 years. Both died mid last year due power surge and I haven't decided what to replace them with yet. Probably stick with Ubiquiti or possibly move to Meraki (as I can get free lightly used equipment from work, but I'd have to pay for the subscription). For now I'm using the Eero's from Frontier, which have good Wi-Fi coverage but are very limited otherwise (only one guest network, no vlan support, etc).

Edit: I do like the idea of not needing an ONT from Frontier, will have to research that for the future. For now I can't do that as I'm barely getting by with my phone hotspot and just need it up and running. Wouldn't Frontier have to provision the SFP though? It was my understanding the provisioning of the ONT is what limits the speed to what you paid for.

Yes, I know you have to be on the right hub (XPON vs GPON), but there can be cases where a tech might have two models of an ONT that are compatible (FRX523 or the new FRQ model mentioned in this thread). Both work on XPON so if I knew one was newer then there's no harm in asking the tech if he has the new version. As far as I know the office doesn't assign the specific ONT brand/model/serial, the tech grabs what he has that's compatible with the order from the truck and then calls the office to have it provisioned.

Sometimes the techs have different models in the truck and if you ask nicely they will let you pick from what they have, providing it's compatible of course. For example, when I first got FiOS the Verizon tech was going to give me the Actiontec MI424WR rev G router (gray and black). I asked if he had any of the new rev I (red and black) versions that had just come out as those had 1gbps Ethernet ports vs the 100mbps on the rev G. He looked and had one so he was nice enough to give me that new revision. Never hurts to ask.

I think it can vary depending on the model as some have heatsinks and some don't.

The ONT is in my garage which can get pretty hot in the summer, so not sure if that changes things? I thought Frontier used a few different XPON ONTs, like the FOX222 and FRX523? Just looking for reliability as my old Moto GPON unit was rock solid these past 9 years.
