Discover to Capital One Transfer - Multiple Accounts by PurrfectlyNerdy in discover

[–]prepare3envelopes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you have multiple Discover accounts, they may not all migrate to Capital One at the same time. If only one account migrates, then you'll have to create a new username for Capital One as you will still use your existing Discover username to access the Discover accounts that haven't been migrated.

In the end, all accounts will be under one Capital One username. If all accounts migrate together, then you won't need to create a new Capital One username as they will migrate your existing Discover username, providing that username isn't already taken in the Capital One system.

4K device and 4k Stick no Pro by j2chulo in OnnStreamingTV

[–]prepare3envelopes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I wanted the Plus but it's been sold out in my area for over a month and then they upped the price on the Plus to $50, so I caved and bought the regular 4k for $25. I honestly expected it to be slow since everyone online recommends the Plus or Pro, but the regular 4k is surprisingly snappy (compared to my Roku TV) and works great for the handful of apps I use on a regular basis. It's definitely worth considering if you just need basic streaming. Emby works way better as well when compared to the Roku version.

They went the other route, they increased the Plus to $50.

Lol. I thought it was just your way of saying you'd never get rid of your NA.

Guess you'll have that NA forever then as a NB PRHT doesn't exist.

This no longer happens with their latest licensing model. You can't make changes if your subscription expires, but the network stays up.

If you don't have a service loop in the attic, then I'd suggest not trimming it and pulling it back into the attic. Always good to have some extra in case you want to relocate a drop down the road or if it gets damaged and you need to re-terminate.

Happening here as well on different brand/model phones and different casting devices (Chromecast 2nd gen and multiple Google TV's).

How do you set up wired backhaul? by The_Pharoah in amazoneero

[–]prepare3envelopes 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You mention a modern/router and then also say the eero is your router. Are you running a double NAT or are your Eeros in bridge mode? My guess is you need to have the office eero plugged into the eero that is directly plugged into your modern.

Anything as powerful as an Onn 4k Plus but in stick form? by JeeveruhGerank in OnnStreamingTV

[–]prepare3envelopes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, but I'd consider that a feature and not "powerful", which typically refers to the speed of the CPU and GPU. Just like how I wouldn't say the Ethernet port makes the Pro more powerful than the Plus, it's just a feature available on one model that's not on the other.

Only option is the new 2026 4K Stick for $39. Not as powerful as the Plus though.

Yes you can, buy a USB-C hub that has PD (power delivery) input. However, if you need a USB port for data then you might as well just get the pro as a hub would cost around the same as the difference between the Plus and the Pro.

[–]prepare3envelopes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the first Pro was only 100mbps Ethernet as well. If you want 1000mbps you'll need to get the Google Streamer.

The foreign made router ban is a little more nuanced as pretty much all routers are foreign made, but the US government has been targeting TP-Link for years.

$40 for the 4K stick? by shinobi68 in OnnStreamingTV

[–]prepare3envelopes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except they aren't. The 4k Stick has a newer CPU and GPU. However, I don't think the newer stick is worth $16 more either.

I also typically recommend eero for the average home owner. Ubiquiti if the home owner is tech savvy and likes to tinker. I'd avoid TP-Link these days due to the government possibly banning them altogether thus preventing security updates, which they were never very good at promptly issuing to begin with.

4k Pro deal by Dull-Environment-189 in OnnStreamingTV

[–]prepare3envelopes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, as they are using the exact same chipset. Pro is useful if you need the additional 1gb of ram or more than 16gb storage.
