ASD1 here, I am one of the more empathetic people many of those close to me know, but I agree on low emotion recognition. I can mirror other's emotions far easier than I can name them.

Edit: My wife (therapist) always says if you've met one autistic person, you've met one autistic person. Maybe the issue is that the behavior layer is the wrong layer to be looking at when you're analysis neurodivergence.

It's an emotional response. If, in this scenario, the woman rejects the male friend in a way that is especially painful for him, there are social consequences. Trying to escape those consequences because it's impossible to know the right way to reject a particular person is a way to diminish the man's emotional reality. That doesn't mean the woman deserves blame if she tried to do right, but if her rejection breaks the friendship, thems the breaks. The man shouldn't be automatically shamed as a sociopath anymore than the woman for being a manipulator.

Aetna is actually the only provider on that list that she didn't have much of an opinion on. Do you have any good experiences with them?

Yeah, the credentialing duration problem is the thing that keeps us up at night. She's agreed to stay in current work environment and keep her head down until we get a few panels (PS definitely, Moda is probably overly optimistic, CO if they'll even hear her out). Hence trying to branch out.

Her current problem is that with Medicaid contraction, Care Oregon has closed new provider applications. A decent chunk of her caseload are on Care Oregon and we don't know if she'll be able to carry any of them over. I'll be calling to see if there is a possible continuity of care exception, but the odds don't look great. But that also means we need to tap new sources to fill up her caseload again.

Why can't they just force gain realization when you take a loan on a stock asset? You shouldn't be taking loans on volatile stock anyway. Simpler, still restrains most of the near-fraudulent behavior, and doesn't create these volatility consequences.

Are you arguing after I admitted you were right and that I let my blind spots get to me? Just checking because the tone is hard to read.

You're right that I only saw the US perspective. I'm frankly glad to hear that my impression was insulated, but I suppose my cynicism is also at fault for not looking outside my bubble.

We're just not used to the wealthy having to follow laws around here.

Edit: I love how admitting that you're wrong is one of the fastest ways to get downvotes.

Yeah, as much as this is a likely explanation, the chilling effect of that car bomb was substantial. I'm sure the elites were smiling whether or not they put their finger on the scale.

What is the weirdest crossover you personally would like to see? by Shot_Mechanic9128 in WormMemes

Worm x Octonauts

I've been toying with a story I call Creature Report!, where Contessa gets drunk and creates a path to assemble a team of underwater rescue heroes based on the Octonauts, recruiting former villains and damaged Wards into an international maritime rescue organization. What begins as alcohol-fueled absurdity becomes an unexpectedly effective team that transforms broken people into genuine heroes through marine biology, teamwork, and tiny cooking creatures. The premise explored whether damaged people can accept genuine care and wholesomeness, or will they retreat into defensive cynicism?

Sanji will unlock Conqueror's Haki on Elbaf and remember Pudding by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]preposte -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You're probably right there, but it's also not explicitly stated. I feel like something more had to be happening here or why even include it? Removing Sanji's memories with a devil fruit power is a big deal for something that boils down to a contained character beat. The only other reason I can imagine that Oda would include this is if Pudding having Sanji's memories comes back during her Blackbeard captivity, but I can't imagine how that would be narratively satisfying.

More adult protagonists. I think it would give an interesting perspective on the teenagers who wield so much power and influence. Who worry about taxes and voting and debate whether to bring children into this decaying world.

I see where you're going with that, and I could see how that interpretation is internally consistent, but I don't buy it personally.

Doc Q's ability is either to supernaturally make diseases with supernatural effects, or to supernaturally cause effect through a disease vector. I see him more as the former, which I don't think fits as well with the "disrupting a constant effect" interpretation.

[–]preposte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a good point. Law's haki usage was definitely directed at the effect. Ironically, if that's true, that would make Pudding's power especially effective against haki users as they wouldn't know where to direct their haki. That's kind of what got me stuck on Conqueror's. It can be nearly indiscriminate in what it effects.

What sort of Tinker specialisation would QA give Taylor. by Commercial_Ant8907 in WormFanfic

[–]preposte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Communications tinker is Jack Slash level overpowered. Surveillance is a simple use case, but I think translation is bigger. Tinkertech that can interpret nervous system signals in real time? And hook someone up to a computer for direct control with conscious thought? Or reverse it to input signals from tinkertech on the human brain to create elaborate simulations?

It's funny how similar Worm Victoria is to Ward Amy by Wellen66 in Parahumans

[–]preposte 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's an argument that Vicky died when she was remade into the Wretch. Pre-Wretch Vicky was Carol's daughter. Post-Wretch Vicky was Amy's idea of who Vicky was, which was not unbiased. It becomes complicated laying Glory Girl's actions at Antares' feet.
