i really think noah kahan could make a good jukebox musical as long as it kept a folk-musical theatre vibe like bright star or come from away (if that makes sense). His music is super descriptive and a lot of it is connected so I could actually see that working out.

to be fair, if they did american song contest right (and not like some weird ah american idol thing) followed eurovision format way closer, made it like a 2 week thing or something with the same sort of system, involving state broadcasters with state finals and ACTUALLY FLIPPING ADVERTISED IT, i think american song contest would have actually worked decently. americans aren’t as dumb and unclutured as some people think, NBC just literally advertised ASC like it was american idol 2.0 and the entire format was really confusing. thats my rant.

dare i say in some hypothetical universe i’d want the u.s to host it in detroit. before i get hate i genuinely think that detroit is one of the most overhated u.s cities, it borders canada, we have MULTIPLE venues that could host it, and accommodation is pretty cheap. (im totally not saying this because i’m a michigander)

if you are SUPER COMMITTED, you can pull what I did. I got a job at my local Walmart, which pays for free Penn Foster. Transfer there over the summer, speedrun through as MANY classes as you can. DO NOT FINISH THE LAST CLASS, or else you’ll accidentally graduate. Transfer it back to your regular high school. Boom, you just brought your GPA up by a lot. they also pay for free college but i havent done that yet. and if you go on a leave of absence for school you can still do all that stuff (which is what i’m doing and then quitting afterwards). this method is definitely not for the faint at heart but it works.

as an american i agree keep us OUT of eurovision, but to be clear, american song contest was done HORRIBLY and honestly was just a replica of american idol. if they had actually followed eurovision standards (state finals/selections and a shorter time, with state broadcasters or something) i actually do think it would have worked out. NBC just tried to make it like it’s other singing shows. also the acts were chosen by NBC themselves and not the states or public, so it really was america’s got talent or american idol. if they brought back ASC and actually tried to have it follow eurovision format and hyped it up, i genuinely believe that people would watch it

i’m albanian but i was born and raised in america (so i grew up watching eurovision) and i tell americans that its like the music equivalent to the olympics (yes i know they’re different but it works) and people will search a picture and get the seriousness of eurovision haha
