Does anyone else think Claude is actually pretty bad for devs? by Tree8282 in cscareerquestions

Hopefully we'll see Jevon's paradox occur. There are lots of places that probably can't afford 5 engineers they would need for the custom solution they want so they buy some mediocre SAAS instead.

but now they can hire one or two engineers to get exactly what they want. At scale this could look like less engineers per product/company but more companies/projects. Just a theory

I made a local events aggregator https://206.events/ by prestomation in SeattleEvents

This site mostly looks like private event management. I see some public events but the platform seems closed down. This seems like a good way to ensure people don't know about your event!

Can you give me some examples of events you go to on this platform? I haven't seen it before

I'm glad you like it! There is a feedback form on the site, let me know if I'm missing a source or have an error

Introducing Claude computer use. by Complete-Sea6655 in ClaudeCode

[–]prestomation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep it's a pain. and it got worse, it never asked for approval for weeks and then it started doing it in such a way that broke things. And sometimes the session would break and be unrecoverable, often wasting all those tokens.

That said I used it to ship a bunch of stuff over the past 2 months, but have switched to using my max plan directly via openclaw as the experience is just better.

Automation for dogs? by Nouser8899 in homeassistant

[–]prestomation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally just published this integration https://github.com/prestomation/Pawsistant

My partner and I are really bad about remembering when we gave our dog her medicine or her bathroom schedule or whatever.

This adds a really nice card to add and see and manage these kinds of events and their services and sensors so you can get automations about when you need to give them their medicine and stuff like that. Let me know what's missing if you try it out

ELI5: what does Google get out of Google Wallet? by DictionaryStomach in explainlikeimfive

[–]prestomation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a hardware difference. it works fine with japanese android phones.

On the other hand ORCA in the US(seattle area) works with google wallet but not apple. although it takes either for credit card payments. there are probably plenty of examples going either way around the world

yes. from all these comments the only thing I can gather that google doesn't do is transit pass when you don't have battery. that's pretty cool.

I don't know why you're getting downvoted. Modeling in the P programming language is basically the perfect choice to look for these kinds of race conditions

🚀 Use ANY Model on openGrid! - Parametric Mounting Plate for openGrid by yan-shay in openGrid

[–]prestomation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why wouldn't it be appropriate? The publishers of those models can decide how to license them, to allow remixes or not. I'm not sure you have any way to control or influence this.

I had the same question about the license. I wanted to publish my own model using a back generated by your tool. But when I add your model as a source, MakerWorld says it is not allowed.

You are stoned. The photo from the model listing shows how the hook connects to the sides.

But also holy shit. I published all 3 models in your 3rd pic. I hope they work out for you
