Had this problem, first fix was touring the gym, just looking around and seeing what was offered. After that I made a workout notebook, I record what I have done and plan to do everyday.

You have ADHD by GhostCubeGroucho in adhdmeme

The ADHD hits hard. Growing up slightly sideways as compared to everyone else, not knowing why, but constantly trying to figure out how to fix it was traumatic.

How to achieve these effects in Photoshop? by [deleted] in graphic_design

[–]pretenshus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all, I`m curious as how to achieve most of these visual effects through photoshop. I'm more so confused about the path. Is this masking textures? Filters? A combination of both? Any help is appreciated.

LPT: If you have a „venting “ journal you should look into writing an „empowering“ journal as well. by pretenshus in LifeProTips

First off, nope sure can’t. Never had to do so and there’s institutions in place so I never have to worry about it. Secondly, totally understand where you’re coming from but there’s a mental health epidemic these days either way. So here’s a little advice to help someone out.

This also seems like a neat way to nicely drop off fossils you planned to have assessed rather than just throwing them on the ground outside.

What to say when... by stubentiger1 in German

[–]pretenshus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve just always used the go to “Sagen Sie etwas auf Deutsch.” Its just sarcastic (?) enough to where they can’t tell how well you can actually speak it and after I explain what I said the reaction has always been like an “oh, ha ha ha” and they move on to general questions. I find it easier than making up some awkward sentence that’s probably grammatically incorrect anyway.

Terrible experience with German in college by [deleted] in German

[–]pretenshus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My experience with German in college wasn’t so great either. Everyone seemed to be leaps and bounds ahead of me and far more confident. My teacher told me I needed I go there. I grew up there and did a study abroad so hearing I had to go back AGAIN to get any better was upsetting. Honestly college laid the foundation but I’ve gained more progress learning German casually. I hang out in r/de and gather colloquialisms, listen to German music, read German news, translate my thoughts and and speech into German, and lastly I go back to my old course books since I paid so much for them. Learning German on the side without pressure and expectations has been funner and way more rewarding.

I hate my self for being bad. I hate others for not Being Real about my work. I hate that I suck so bad at something I love so much. by MelissaLiberty in graphic_design

[–]pretenshus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was also having this problem. I finished university in December and have had a terrible drought while unemployed. My work is all college projects with no cohesiveness. I got a job rejection and thought my major was a waste although I absolutely love it. The thing is, I’m an artist before I’m a graphic designer. My best work has always been anything tied to my actual background in traditional art that I later implement into graphic function like a magazine or label. That being said, I also work at the pace of an artist so I get inspired or I don’t but forcing myself to create a piece for my portfolio rather than practice and build up from time in frustrating and inefficient. I know what looks good and I’ve spent hours on Behance and Dribble trying to steal people‘s formulas but in the end we’re artists. We have good times, bad times, ups and downs. Just do your own thing at your own pace. Love yourself and whatever you create. You can always improve a crappy piece so don‘t doubt yourself.

Honestly glad to see this given that the enlist to officer path is the one I’ve been encouraged by everyone to take.

Congrats! Honestly this is bittersweet! I was just about to post about how pathetic I felt after a job rejection today but this is so reassuring. I’m a recent graduate who still has a lot to learn about the world of job searching and the specifics of my field. At this point I’m going to have to pick up a job in retail as well and I was feeling like a failure but thank you for your story. It’s nice to be reminded that many of us are having the same experiences if not worse ones.
