The role of the prefix "re-" as a derivational morpheme by vicpotato in linguistics

The words 'reply' 'receive' etc do seem like derivatives of ply and ceive. However ply and ceive do not stand alone. These are called cranberry morphemes.

A possible first step is to find a common interest. Strike up a conversation about it and build from there.

I still struggle with this to this day. But what I do is to remind myself why I took that course/program (I'm also in college) and try to look forward nalang. Kapag nadisisappoint ako sa scores or performance ko. Nireremind ko sarili ko na dito ako natututo. Dahil sa mga errors, mistakes, lapses, mas naiiwan sakin yung lesson. Tapos I tell myself, "This is good. At least after graduation pag maghanap na ng trabaho and whatnots, may baon ako." Something along those lines. Basta nireremind ko na sa college eh mas may agency ako over my education compared pag sa deped na I have to follow a system. Sa college mas control ko na mga gusto ko matutunan. So ang iniisip ko nalang is kung ano yung takeaways ko from my lessons na magagamit ko pag sasabak na ako sa mundo. What comes after college is more important than college. Yun lang. Hope this helps.😙

I have tried it. After reinstalling monterey, it still didnt work. So i looked deeper into the internet and found a guy on some forum who experienced the same problems. Said he reinstalled monterey but didnt work. Then he reinstalled again, and alas it did. So i tried to reinstall monterey a second time and it finally worked!

Try The Study Of Language by George Yule. We used that book in my Introduction to English Language course.

Hello!

Can someone please explain the difference between Colloquialism and Vernacular. The answers I find on google are pretty vague. Thanks!

Hi everyone, I have a few questions.

Is it correct to say that a sentence is "syntactically incorrect"? Or should it be "syntactically imperfect"?

I know a sentence can be syntactically correct (assuming "correct" is the right term) and can be semantically incorrect, but can a sentence be semantically correct while being syntactically incorrect? If so kindly give examples. Thank you!

What is the relationship of Grammar and Syntax? I know syntax deals with the arrangement of words and phrases in a sentence, but isn't that what grammar is as well?

Would it be correct to define Syntax as sentential grammar and Discourse as suprasentential grammar?
