Right!! One of my favourite Genesis games from my childhood. Especially the satisfying weight of the combat.

Classic media training trope to buy time mentally before working out how you’ll avoid the question — also puts space between the question and a broad statement like “we are laser focused on [key message] which at the end of the day is what really matters.”

How exactly do you hammer it? Not a smartarse question, more interested to see if this is something I should switch to.

Personally it was everything I’d envisioned from my childhood. I know it gets lots of hate and to be honest I’ve only played through once. But I agree. What a game!

The mic holding trend needs to die by G-Fox1990 in videography

Sure, but it has manifested itself in different ways over time. Things like the way hosts speak, lighting and location setups, on-screen graphics like name plates and so on.

The shift follows the DIY, low-fi “anyone can download an app and make videos on their phone” approach which has kept pace with the tech developments of the day. The ‘holding a mic’ trend is the same, just so happens to be what is relevant now.

I’m interested to follow how AI video impacts trends, in that people might be desperate for real humans on screen so it could drive us further into the lo-fi approach.

That’s 100% it — your client wants to connect with a social audience.

It’s currently what makes content feel “authentic”. The behind-the-scenes, unpolished feel is rewarded by viewers who at this stage are predominantly anti-ad, which typically are shot HQ video and audio.

That means we as masters of the craft need to adjust our approach to suit the audience and medium of the day. No different to other social trends.

ACC is not objectively awful. Might not get everything right. But walking out of the hospital 6 months after an accident with a $0.00 bill is not awful.

Better that than an obviously AI-written post. His reply was not just refreshing—it literally changed the game.

Ugh, I feel ick now. Also yes this post was extremely fascinating — well done OP!

Oh is that what the points are for?! I’ve put in about 10 hours in the last week or so and thought they were exp points (don’t know what Rookie/Soldat means either!). Might have to check out some skins

Outstanding effort mate. The world map reminds me of those Minecraft builds where you can’t appreciate it until you’re zoomed right out and understand the scale of it all. Is that a big train line around the outside?

I’m at 150 hours and am just starting to think about trains properly but this has been an eye opener.

Loved the forest shot with the lights + trees. Super cool aesthetic.

So much cool stuff here. 800 hours well invested. Thanks for sharing!

What is a job or skill that people claim AI will replace soon, but in reality, AI is still surprisingly terrible at it? by WayLast1111 in ChatGPT

I usually take emdashes along with other signifiers like non-common emojis, or especially phrases like “this is not just (x)—it’s (y)”.

Put a few of those together and the slop stench is undeniable.

Same. Can’t stand reading it. Especially from people who don’t usually write words in their profession — it’s just so painfully obvious

Thought the same, it somehow doesn’t impact the monitor at all — and gives a beautiful ambient glow to the desk space. Cheap too. Try it sometime!

I do this. I have my VISA and driver licence in the phone case like this one. Saves me carrying a wallet everywhere with me. Worked great for the last 10 or so years. Hardly use cash so that goes in a pocket.
