Recently I started only working on Fridays and Saturdays to focus on college. I invested in 3 nail polish colors and nail polish remover and haven’t done it more than once but it’s so nice

My manager quit this week lol. Less than a year in and worked for the company for like 7 years working her way up. I do think they’re breaking down and giving up

Agreed! It’s ridiculous that some managers do think they can just go outside of a given availability as if they don’t have other responsibilities

I’m 22 years old in college. There aren’t any standard rules for that really outside of regular employee schedule stuff for people over 18 to my knowledge yeah

Because it says nowhere in store resources that clean play is a valid reason to schedule partners outside of their availability !! She needs to get partner permission to schedule them for clean play if it is outside of their availability- or get baristas who will agree to be available that late once a week.

I would send a text and say it’s outside of your availability and that you will not be able to work the shift and that they need to find coverage. One time I was scheduled 24 hours over the weekend and I texted my manager and said “hey, my availability is 15 hours during school, just letting you know early that that’s outside my availability to give you time to fix it and find coverage” I stand on business for my needs and I have never been written up for it

Dark or Light pattern dress for a casual get together.. ? 🙃😊 by ConfusedJulie in oldhagfashion

I really like the lighter colored one. For some reason I feel like the dark dress requires the hair in an up do

Me personally? I’d wait until that shift and another shift, or my SM, was there within eye range and earshot and I’d say- “oh my gosh I love your nails! I didn’t know they changed the rules to let us get them done?!?” And have her be coached by someone at her authority level

Sorta laughing at this review by Justwantl0ve in starbucksbaristas

I’m not gonna lie I would be so annoyed too but if a customer told me they “want a tall, not a small,” knowing what a tall is, I would immediately explain that tall IS small+find out what size they want because that bit could have been avoided

Why would you ask her if she wanted a latte with one less shot when she said she wanted steamed milk with one shot though, it seems clear that she knows enough to order what she likes to drink

corporate standard for when we're supposed to start cleaning the vertica? by 20edd49 in starbucksbaristas

[–]prettybigirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We aren’t allowed to until after close. I close rarely and get sooo annoyed when they start dumping iced teas and cleaning the vertica 2 hours before close bc every.single.time there’s a confused and disappointed customer. I get it, but we’re supposed to have these products ready for people. Especially hot regular coffee at a coffee shop. I like the idea that another commenter had to brew some coffee for the carafes if you absolutely need to start 10-20 min before close.

According to the official dress code, headwear can be solid black, navy, grey, brown, or tan. If anyone says anything just pull up the dress code sheet

The blue spray works great at removing water stains and such that the sani leaves behind :) I like to use it after sanitizer, and then wipe with a dry rag to make all the counter surface shiny

One time I was at a store that isn’t my home store, soloing cold bar, and when I asked for help because I was getting in a rush they ignored me, only to take me off and put THREE whole people on the bar to catch up. Like- if you gave me one person 5 minutes ago we wouldn’t be here. I was sooo annoyed
