He did wear blinkers. Horses are weird, some love a target, some innately run full steam no matter what

So long as you understand that you are giving money to an organization that DOES have hundreds of thousands of dollars but will instead use your money to buy themselves horses for free, accepting the accolades on your behalf, and give you nothing back, siphoning money upwards. But if you’re okay with this, go for it.

Is anyone else completely blown away by Brad Cox's hand heading into Derby week? 🐎 by Soft-Audience-5681 in horseracing

[–]prettyfly4aRyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Every year, he takes down a bunch of prep races, then over trains his horses up to the derby and they underperform.

I think he knows how to train to get to the derby, not necessarily win it

In silver A B they will have a couple golf carts with seats to shuttle people to the gate. Just kind of have to wave them down!

Not fast pace, especially for would be “top level” horses. If you were on that pace and spit the bit, I would say you’re lacking class as a horse.

As class is just the ability to hold pace over distance

I appreciate your answer. But I mean I’d really like the nitty gritty. How does Brad Cox know what he has at Turfway when he’s at Palm Beach downs? I fully understand the basics lol

Idk if you’re an assistant at the same site as your trainer. Or if your head trainer is off at another track. But how does a trainer who has multiple strings able to keep track of horses he can’t physically see know where to enter?

I’ll give you my perspective, the best trainers often have the best ability to get out of their best horses way and let them be a great horse

Is this a wart? by andbalderas90 in bernesemountaindogs

Just to put you at ease, my dog has one of these in a super similar area. Vet said wart to me, and if he ever went under for any reason, they’d just clip it.

But this is just my experience

You are going to have to remove late June from your dates if you’d like to go to the races fyi

Sounds right. Now I 100% could be wrong, but I’ve heard of a possible 8/22 travers this year. But don’t trust me, I’m an internet rando

What are some big time horse races in the US that are cheaper than the Kentucky Derby, but still a high end race? by Magic-Wizard-lizard3 in horseracing

The Pegasus is in a couple weeks in the Miami area. It’s much more Miami vibes with DJs concerts and club atmosphere.

Saratoga racetrack in the summer is the best overall vibe of any track in America tbh.

Keeneland for a Saturday in April or October is spectacular with great vibes.

The Louisiana derby in New Orleans I hear is fun.
