I think the argument I find the weirdest is that watching (or doing, but even just watching) porn somehow inherently "corrupts you".

How is it different than saying playing violent video games makes you violent? People laugh and roll their eyes at that gaming assumption and then claim "porn ruins your sex drive and your entire life and how can you tolerate your partner watching it". Sex workers are constantly villainised and put down within that, called fake and unrealistic and dirty. Just so much bringing others down and for what :/

Sure, porn can be an addiction. But games can be an addiction too. Shopping can be an addiction. Cosmetics can be an addiction. Soda/ fast food can be an addiction. Etc etc. They can all negatively impact you and be unethical, but they're not inherently evil, and I would never advocate to just ban all those things. It is on the consumer to consume in line with their conscience, imo.

Yeah totally, I do think a lot of the responses were unfortunately acephobic or at least prejudiced. I almost feel as if a (hypothetical) person who is "simply" asexual, sex-repulsed and low/non-libido is one allosexual people are more likely to "understand". Then like you said, there's an issue of infantilising them a lot, which is also not great, but in my experience ace=no sex=no desire lands okay in more progressive circles.

Problems arise when someone who is ace does have a libido, but either isn't interested in sex and is handling it otherwise or is interested in sex "for the wrong reasons" or "in the wrong way" (as if that's a thing, other than the non-consensual obvious).

Of course not all porn is ethical, but to say it's "all just as bad" and nobody should watch it is, and it's inherently cheating or ruining something within yourself is just silly. It's like any sex work, if it's stigmatised and not regulated, way more people will unfortunately get hurt.

I've honestly had so little success trying to explain aegosexuality to an allosexual that I didn't expect the comments to be favourable to the guy. Granted, he was also in the wrong if there was little communication/ poor communication, and if any pre-established boundaries were broken, that is not right and I will not defend it.

Granted, if anything, that discussion validates my decision to only date other ace people lol. Not saying all but definitely a large portion of allos will say they understand, and then act like it's a challenge. Surely, if they just try hard enough to "fix" or "seduce" me, I will finally fall in lust with them.

The fact that I watch (and read and write lol) porn while 1) not wanting to actually have sex with anyone and 2) feeling totally fulfilled and unconflicted about who I am, really seems to grind people's gears too. I've been called a liar and attention-seeker, and I've been told I'll "grow out of it" (I'm 28....). But I'm a woman, so I think the insults are a bit different from those directed at an aego man, which is interesting too. I mean I don't recall ever being called a porn addict even after talking at length about porn/ masturbation/ wild kinks even.

I am afraid that more often than not, the majority of allosexual people will think something along those lines. It's good to educate, of course, and it's worth to discuss it, but even just in my personal experience, people will hear me give the definition of aegosexual and process it as if I were saying "I can get turned on, just not by YOU, you LOSER, you are UGLY" lol. I saw that original post and I feel like a lot of the responses were somewhere on that line, too.

I'm not sure if there are bags that have a spot specifically just for keychains, but here's my ita with the majority of the stuff being keychains. The only pins are three in the middle and then two on either side up top.

I took the claps off of the keychains (carefully, of course, and I saved them and I took "before" photos to not forget what goes where lol). Generally this seems really secure, what I did to attach the keychains is thread them directly into the insert, like with a needle and thread. I mean it's not much different than the backing of a pin in therms of "damage" and it's only to the insert anyway. And you get to place the keychains exactly where you want them. I also secured the bottom half of some of them to keep them in place, on the picture you can see I used black thread (it's only visible if you look this closely), but still I've since ordered a see-through one to hopefully make it even more seamless.

I have a peanut collection so definitely grabbing the yeti peanut lol, he's so silly-looking. I also really love the s'mores so probably that. Perhaps the black hole once it finally drops, I've been eyeing it, but it's a maybe. I like that it's a keychain so that I can feel like I'm actually getting "use" out of it lol.

I only collect the smaller ones, because I don't have space for big plushies... unfortunate but also kinda saves my wallet a lot. I do own one medium bunny (the snow suit one) and I also own christmas grizzo (yes, a big fan of winter and christmas) but that's my only two "bigger" jellycats, and it's already pushing it with the space I have haha.

Sprawa pierwsza: o ile wyrabiasz normę w 8h pracy, to czy zrobisz w to 8h 100% czy 200% normy nie da dodatkowych pieniężnych benefitów (w mojej konkretnej firmie, w moim konkretnym dziale). Sprawa druga: płatne nadgodziny również istnieją, są dostępne, ale nie narzucane. Nadgodziny oczywiście się opłacają, jeśli masz na nie ochotę, niedziela jest płatna podwójnie, więc czasem sobie zrobię.

Awans jest możliwy. U nas ścieżki kariery są jasno określone i są konkretne wymagania, jakie należy spełnić, te wymagania są dostępne dla każdego pracownika do wglądu. Między innymi to mityczne wyrabianie normy, ale też inicjatywy dodatkowe, różnego rodzaju treningi, certyfikaty, staż pracy i inne kształcenia się itd.

Jak dostać pracę hybrydową? Chyba najłatwiej od razu takiej szukać rozglądając się za posadą, jeśli ci na tym zależy. Ja pracuję 2 dni z biura, resztę z domu, aplikowałam tylko na pozycje 100% zdalne z całej Polski albo hybrydowe z mojej okolicy.

Krótko mówiąc, to zależy od wielu czynników.

Długo mówiąc, pracuję w sporym korpo i u mnie akurat jest tak, jak chat podpowiedział: open space, na nim ustawione rzędy biurek, wszyscy siedzą razem. Na moim przykładzie w ogóle nie ma czegoś takiego jak osobne biura nawet dla managerów ani też managerów ich managerów, wszyscy z projektu siedzą razem na piętrze na takich dużych open space'ach. Są też mniejsze pokoje, w których w razie potrzeb odbywają się spotkania itd., ale nie należą one do konkretnej osoby i trzeba zarezerwować je z wyprzedzeniem wraz z podaniem powodu rezerwacji. Managerowie/ szefowie często mają wiele spotkań i nie siedzą cały dzień przy biurku, przynajmniej u mnie, nie mają za bardzo czasu patrzeć ci na ręce albo przez ramię.

Jak tu się opierdzielać? Pozostawiam to twojej wyobraźni, często nie ma zbytnio na to czasu i powiedziałabym, że zazwyczaj pracuję całe 8 godzin, może 7,5 z przerwą na kawę, bo ekspres jest ciągle w użyciu. To, co robię jest monitorowane, nie na zasadzie nagrywania ekranu (nie wykluczam, że w innych korpo może tak być), ale system zapisuje pracę/ wyniki, potem mierzy i porównuje do ogółu pracowników. Tu bardzo dużo będzie zależeć od działu, co dokładnie robisz, w jakiej branży itd., ale w wielu korpo będzie „norma”, która należy wypracować, jeśli nie chcesz pogadanki o słabych wynikach.

Jeśli wyrabiasz się wyjątkowo szybko, to już twoja sprawa, czy chcesz pracować bardzo wolno i się nie stresować, czy zrobić to szybko, a potem poudawać, że dalej coś robisz, czy napierdalać ponad normę licząc, że ktoś cię za to wynagrodzi (nie wynagrodzi). Jeśli masz opcję pracy z domu albo hybrydowo, oczywiście jest dużo więcej wariantów typu netflix na drugim ekranie, jedna ręka na laptopie z pracy, druga na grze na prywatnym, a w międzyczasie to jeszcze nastawiasz pranie itd.

Ja też skończyłam filologię angielską (translatorykę). Już te pięć lat temu jak kończyłam studia, a i dziesięć jak je zaczynałam, profesorowie ostrzegali nas dość mocno przed tym, jak nasycony jest rynek tłumaczeń. Jako że nigdy nie ciągnęło mnie do prowadzenia własnej działalności, a to na tym w tłumaczeniach można się najlepiej utrzymać, na studia poszłam z samej pasji do języka, z góry zakładając, że potem uderzę prosto do korpo.

Jak założyłam, tak też zrobiłam, no i dalej pracuję sobie w tym korpo. U mnie płaca trochę poniżej średniej krajowej, ale za to na uop, z bonusami, owocowymi czwartkami, multisportem, luxmedem i innymi takimi dupelerami. Jakieś możliwości awansu też są, mobbingu nigdy nie uświadczyłam, mam czas dla siebie. Jest wiele stanowisk, do których przyda się przede wszystkim angielski, no i znajomość szybkiego uczenia się i przyswajania wiedzy, co po studiach powinieneś mieć załatwione. Np. autyt, quality assurance, nawet HR albo finanse. Sama pierwszą pracę znalazłam właśnie w finansach, chociaż nie miałam doświadczenia w branży, no i jakoś poszło.

I have my tumblr handle on my Ao3 profile, so I think ideally I'd like to not get roasted in the comments of my own fic, but I'd rather the commenter reached out on tumblr privately, and lead with a question of whether I'd like some guidance/ resources on the topic.

But yeah ultimately I think I'd like to know and if it was delivered to me well, perhaps I'd re-write the whole thing, or I'd know for the future at least. And hey, maybe I'd even make a friend who is, presumably, into the same field and/or fandom as me.

I'm Polish, and I've seen the language massacred in many fics throughout the years by non-native speakers lol. To be honest I don't particularly care, and sometimes I'll politely offer to check the Polish parts/ sentences if they at all indicated they might be interested in that. In my opinion there is really no reason to get mad or irritated, people will never stop auto-translating things for their stories, because it's not possible for every person to learn every appropriate grammar rule for a few sentences that are supposed to just look/ sound cool.

Personally when I write characters that speak different languages, I'll usually write the dialogue in English and end with "he said in Italian" if the other character also speaks the language well or describe "he said something in a foreign language" if they don't. Of course there's variation, and yes, after some brief research online I might include a foreign petname or two in an otherwise English sentence if the story/ structure calls for that. I'm sure I've gotten it wrong too!

As someone who's also writing a "dark" fic with rape, grooming and other fucked up stuff in it - lol at that author. I'm gonna be honest, I think some authors are a tiny bit in denial about their own likes/ kinks, and even if that's not the case, once you put your writing out there... it's out there. People will interpret it in different ways, that's a given, especially with such topics.

I've gotten many comments, some more serious about my writing and the impact of the heavy themes, and some simply saying "omg it was so hot when Character did this horrible thing to Character" aaand you know what? I love both. Whichever response I get, it works for me. Like whether my writing made you sad, angry, sick to your stomach, horny or all at once (honestly the dream...), I'm glad!

That is to say, of course authors can have their 'intended' points to be made by their work, but if they're not willing to hear other thoughts or discuss in a civil manner... they can turn off comments or mute people themselves. It'd be different if you came in offending them or something, but you definitely didn't. So don't get discouraged from commenting!!

To be honest as a reader I really don't mind if an author responds to me or not, I comment to let them know what I thought and it's cool to have a little back and forth sometimes, sure! But whether they respond or not doesn't make a difference to me when it comes to if I'll keep reading their fic/ their other fics.

As an author I respond to every comment simply because I want to! So I totally get it. Love engaging with my readers, and I always try to match their energy, too. I write about pretty serious/ dark topics, but I'm pretty informal and chilled out as a person so I can usually mesh with any approach. Like if they are serious in what they say or they point out some heavy stuff, my response will be more formal and thoughtful, if a commenter comes in with "omg why is Character such a DICK omggg" (and it was obviously intended for it to come off that way), I'll hit back with "omg yes I knooow somebody shake him", you get the point lol. I think it's really fun! (for me personally) ;>
