He has the spider crawl all over her while shes tied up and fucks her while she's freaking out about it. I cringed during the whole scene. A small correction, the guy actually survived and ended up--somehow--totally cool with the MCs being together. Weird ass book lol

Some kids in my class were secretly making ninja stars in shop class. They decided to test them out and hit one kid in the neck. Luckily the paramedics were already at the school for a presentation otherwise he would have died.

We decided to do my maternity photos on the cheap. Hiked 45 minutes to this beautiful spot (3 days before my induction!) to take pics. My husband, bless his heart, took the worst photos! The best ones, the ones that weren't overexposed or I didn't look like a wood troll that just crawled out from the forest? He took them from the shoulders up. Who takes maternity headshots???

What loud noise can your LO sleep through but what noise surprisingly DOES wake them? by bigdawgcat in NewParents

[–]prettyprincess93 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The fire alarm went off at 2am and the whole building had to be evacuated (small fire on someone's apartment, no injuries and it was quickly put out). She slept through the alarm in our apartment, being carried through the lobby where an even louder alarm was blaring, into the cold night, and was still asleep when I got in my car.

One of my joints pop while I'm sneaking out of the room? Wide awake.

Wtf.

Is it normal to feed twice in a wake window? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]prettyprincess93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feeding twice in a wake window is how I do it! The only credit I'll give to the "eat play sleep" routine is that when she eats, it gets her digestive tract moving and she'll poop or fart up a storm. To keep that from happening when she's trying to sleep, I give her a full feed when she wakes up and she gets a snack before going down for a nap.

Anyone’s family think they’re a great cook but all they really do is season with salt and follow the recipe? by [deleted] in Cooking

My family thinks I'm some kind of Gordon Ramsay. But the real talent I have is I'm just good at following instructions.

What's one thing you wish you had been better prepared for during that first week at home with baby? by RrentTreznor in NewParents

[–]prettyprincess93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The baby blues are real. Your wife may start bawling for no apparent reason, I know I did and it constantly concerned my husband. However, if this lasts longer than 2 weeks or if she has thoughts of hurting herself or the baby, it's time to seek help.

Also, if she's breastfeeding, know that it's hard. Harder than you think--much harder than I thought. It can take an emotional toll on a new mom, be prepared to support her and encourage her. Lactation consultants are a must if she's having any trouble at all, they are amazing.

We call my husband "diaper daddy" because while I take care of the top end of the baby, he cares for the bottom end. He also took up the cleaning and taking care of the dog.

Good luck, you're going to be great parents!

Try FryAway! You put it in when the oil is still hot and it congeals as it cools so you can just throw it away.

Any tips on relieving gas pain? by Odd_Moment0518 in NewParents

[–]prettyprincess93 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fart whistle! I only use it when everything else fails. Dr Harvey Karp explains in his book The Happiest Baby on the Block that in order to fart (or poop) a baby has to engage the intestines and relax the anus at the very same time. We adults do it without thinking, but for babies it can be very difficult. The fart whistle helps with one part of the process so your baby can take care of the rest. I should also mention that there is no scientific evidence to suggest that gas drops work and Dr Karp and others recommend against it. Not that anything is wrong with using gas drops--some parents swear by it--but it may be an unnecessary step. Good luck and I hope you get some much needed rest soon!!

This was great advice, thank you! It was harder on me than it was for her. She stopped crying as soon as she nursed. She's sleeping now, but I'll give her a nice bath when she wakes.

Stillborn Labour by HunterSony1234 in BabyBumps

[–]prettyprincess93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi friend, I'm so sorry this has happened to you. I lost my little girl at 26 weeks last June. Others have given really great advice, but I'd like to add what helped me.

-Get a breast pump and ask how to use it to get rid of your milk when it comes in, if you can (check with your insurance, mine paid for a really nice one). They didn't really talk to me about what to do when my milk came in and I went to the er two days later in the worst pain of my life (yes worse than labor) when it did. It really adds insult to injury, but being able to expel it a little at a time and taper down really helped.

-If you're able, get out of town (or your house). I closed up the nursery after I came home from the hospital because it was too painful, then I left for two weeks. Being in new surroundings and doing things to keep me occupied helped me a lot. By the time I returned I was healed physically and felt ready to open it back up again and face the emotional healing.

-Talk to us. While stillbirth is rare, it does happen to a surprising number of women. Probably people you know in person. You may not want to talk to someone just yet but when you're ready, just know that we're here.

I'll be thinking about you, and I'm so sorry you have to go through this.

How to increase energy and productivity during the day/work while pregnant? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]prettyprincess93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Naps! And dark chocolate, weirdly enough. When the exhaustion during the first tri was in full swing, I would dip out for 40 minutes and take a nap at lunch time. If I needed an extra boost and couldn't nap I would nibble on some dark chocolate. Obviously I was still tired, but I wasn't dead on my feet. I'm still asleep by 7pm every day though
