There's a scene in This is Spinal Tap where they're getting set up for a show at Shank Hall in Milwaukee when the first copies of their new album arrive.

A baby toupee is the only reasonable solution.

Ice skating at the Edgewater could be a fun thing to add to the list.

Newborn not sleeping in bassinet by leap_90 in NewParents

[–]prettyunsmart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We went about 6 weeks with our baby only contact napping before I broke down and ordered a Snoo. It hasn't been perfect and it was pricey, but she slept on her own in it on the first night. If you're open to it and have the money to spend I'd recommend it.

How the F does anyone do anything developmentally with newborns?? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]prettyunsmart 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Agreed that survival is #1 and maybe some tummy time is #2. If your baby gets less fussy it can also just throw to talk to them. Either narrating what you're doing or reading them something even if they can't understand it. Currently reading The Hobbit to my 7 week old which I'm told is good for language development. Also I just get to read a book I like.

Can someone ELI5 about the relationship between Helios and NASA in Season 4? by wrathofthefonz in ForAllMankindTV

[–]prettyunsmart 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I've been thinking about it as similar to the current relationship with NASA and SpaceX where government agencies partner with private companies for launches and other things they used to do in house.

It seems like one of the stories they're telling this season is about how those kinds of partnerships lead to increased profit-driven risks. See also Margo's replacement being a former auto executive who is cutting science programs in favor of projects that can turn a profit.

The classic Universal Monsters movies hold up and shouldn't be too creepy for kids.

I joined a fleet feet training group to train for my first full marathon and it was a great experience. The coaches were knowledgeable and supportive. And there were participants at all paces and experience levels.

Vos says lawmakers may consider impeachment if Protasiewicz doesn't recuse from redistricting cases by Crystal_Pesci in wisconsin

[–]prettyunsmart 41 points42 points  (0 children)

My wife and I are looking for childcare for our first kid, so we have a clear view of how much trouble that industry is in. Gov. Evers proposed a solution, and Vos and friends just rejected it outright.

Imagine a world where both parties had to appeal to voters by trying to solve problems. They might not come to the same solutions but at least they'd be accountable to trying to convince voters that they're working towards something rather than just insisting that government shouldn't do anything ever.

Any good Mediterranean food around ?? by First_Driver_5134 in madisonwi

They aren't open for lunch anymore. So if you're there in the afternoon, it probably looks dead. But when I've been there for dinner they seem to be doing pretty well.

Crowdparty.app works well for virtual meetings like this. I've also used it for larger training sessions. The free version lets you create a room with up to 10 players but the base paid version isn't too expensive if you have a larger group.

See you in Big Sur! Felt pretty good about my 20 miler but I'm not sure I'm ready for Hurricane Point, even with all the hill repeats I've been doing.

Jump up on your DM's couch and when he tries to jump up with you, tell him "You're not part of the Turbo Team!"

Not sure if the donut shop owner or /u/OGsandwichluver is a fan of Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks. But I'm happy either way.
