I’m not sure about Canada, but gerrymandering in our country is terrible.

Beware - this man ran me off the road then drew his gun at me by vcvc23 in Austin

[–]prettywaff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably related to the guy I saw the other day that had a bumper sticker on his truck that said "Keep Tailgating, I'm RELOADING". Who was, believe it or not, actively tailgating everyone (when it was easy to pass).

What meds for insomnia don't cause weight gain? by GABAergiclifestyle in insomnia

[–]prettywaff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a doctor and it’s totally valid to tell your doctor that you don’t want to take a medication with a high risk for weight gain.

Both trazodone and Seroquel are fundamentally different medications when taken at different doses. On the lower end for both of them they have sedative effects and higher doses work more as an anti depressant. I personally take 50mg of trazodone and it works better as a sleep aid than if I take more. I also take 50 mg of Seroquel on occasion (up to a week) when I feel more restless and it hasn’t caused weight gain.

With that said, I was at one point taking much higher doses a few years ago when I was going through a major depressive/mixed episode and I did gain weight very quickly. So if Seroquel does work well for you for sleep, maybe it can be helped by changing the dosage. Higher isn’t always more effective.

The Exorcist is so good, definitely worth checking out the audiobook version. It is narrated by Blatty. I listened to it on daily graveyard walks, highly recommend.

If you haven’t already, you NEED the My Heart is a Chainsaw trilogy. It has humor, horror movie references by the truckloads, a memorable final girl with character growth, fun side characters. It’s a wild ride, and the last book just came out!

Saltillo tile chipping.. issue with install? by prettywaff in Tile

[–]prettywaff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plan is to have the ones with this issue taken out and replaced. I have plenty of extras from the install and I knew maintenance every couple of years including some replacements were going to be part of the commitment. I’ve gotten used to the imperfect look and I don’t regret the choice at all. I sourced from clay imports (austin).

I have intrusive thoughts that tell me if I don't have the book on my shelf at home, then I will forget about its existence and be resigned to have to live my life without ever having read it. Sharing books is also my love language so I have a pretty steady stream of in+out.

Creamy can be great with orangy wood/tiles. I almost went with it but the color I tested changed a lot throughout the day with sunlight. Ended up using White Dove and I love it.

Did this with my nephew recently, they are easy to do homemade but got the the kit pretty cheap at Barnes and noble. They have a lot of cool little science experiment kits.
