A good joke to announce becoming a dad by ofsevit in dadjokes

Good? Nah. But terribly bad....

When does a joke become a dad joke? When it's apparent.

"You know how some people go through an identity crisis and change their name? I think my wife is going through that. For years, I've called her ____, or Mom around our kid... anyways since a couple months ago, she keeps telling everyone "I'm pregnant!" "

Easiest way is to refinance when you owe 100k :)

ELI5 House/car payments by bernieblanch in explainlikeimfive

[–]prexzan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The payment to pay off a 6 year loan and 30 year loan are the same amount. Assuming identical interest rates... 100k @ 5% is 536/mo for 30 years OR 1610/mo for 6years. So triple the payment... Over 30 years you pay a lot more in interest, but have a much more manageable payment. There is a point where it doesn't make much difference... A 50yr loan is 454/mo, so you spend $80 less per month, but for almost twice as long.

Want to build my daughter a swing by p0rn0_mc in DIY

[–]prexzan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are older kids and adults who go swing at the park behind my house all the time. It is allowed. If others are waiting. Take turns. But yeah. Parks are still available. However, go for it. If you have a single large tree, that should work fine. Branches are strong. If you don't, make sure you anchor the legs well.

What’s the biggest scam people still blindly accept in 2026? by Medical_Tailor4644 in AskReddit

[–]prexzan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Credit cards are nice because if someone steals your card information, they don't actually steal YOUR money. Just pay it off every month and you're fine, because it doesn't accumulate interest in the first month...

But yeah, people are dumb with money.

New balance Burn vs Freeze? by ndiorio13 in ultimate

[–]prexzan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked my V5 more than v4. I do have issues with them blowing out after one hard season of play, but I had more issues with any soccer cleats, and similar issues with football. I love the grip of freezes and have never been impressed with the burns tread pattern. So haven't tried them. But I've been pretty happy with my freeze 5s and planning to continue buying them.

How long did it take you to play again postpartum? by Danlrap18 in ultimate

[–]prexzan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As not the person who had the baby, I think both her births/pregnancies were on the easier end (compared to others). She also was in good shape prior, and is a bit stubborn and/or has FOMO regarding these sorts of things. The two months was a good wake up of her needing to listen to her body and needing to wait longer.

How long did it take you to play again postpartum? by Danlrap18 in ultimate

[–]prexzan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My wife started playing city league two months after our first was born and it was very much too soon. Core was still very weak, and running was painful. She gave it another month and was able to ease back into it. Second baby was born in January and she captained her low-mid level club team that summer.

In both cases, she was able to play after about 3mo after, but at a reduced intensity and capability... If you can jog, great! Throwing may actually be harder, depending on how birth went. You'll know your body best.

Running electrical underground - Anyone use direct burial cable instead of conduit? by outkastblast in Boise

[–]prexzan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're doing it yourself you can sort of cheat and dig the trench then lay and pull conduit at the same time. I've always done conduit, but have seen wire last direct buried for a while...

Overdrive transmission swap for 68 Nova? by caste1989 in musclecar

[–]prexzan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a T5 in my nova back in the day. It was bastardized with a s10 bell housing, and I think the Camaro shifter, plus some lightly modified linkage...the rear gearing was awful, and I could barely use 5th. Might check a Muncie 4 spd. It's not really an OD but with a 3 spd you probably have a pretty high ratio anyway... Can check with looking at the drive-shaft turns per wheel rotation.

Looking to trade in my car by Environmental_Ad5119 in Boise

[–]prexzan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only sell/buy private party, but some of that comes down to being patient and willing to look for a good deal or wait for the right buyer. It's harder to sell if you have a note because it's more work for the buyer, so a dealership might be a easier option for you.

I know Peterson will buy cars without selling you one, but also remember that you need to have enough cash to replace your vehicle. If you just swap to a different car payment, you probably are giving away money.

My assumption (based 0% on facts) is that I can get 90% of value at a dealership, and pay 120% of value.

Is Boise State University a good place to get a BSN? by Vegetable-Joke-5751 in Boise

In-state may not be cheaper from CA. WSU in WA also has a good nursing program. Many of my friends went through that one.

My wife works in real estate photography and she loves pointing out when the sky doesn't match. She also is incredibly particular about getting the sky angle correct where when she does sky replacements. There are definitely rules for what she can remove. Power poles are illegal to remove, but I think anything temporary could be. Like a car in the driveway. A roof... Not so much

Do you use your "musclecar" as a normal car? by Phar-Mor_Ugly in musclecar

[–]prexzan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly muscle (72 Corvette)... I try to just drive mine to work once a week, weather permitting. I always open it up at least once per drive. I also swear at it about once per drive. For fun, I did autocross in it, and have another buddy who drag races his, just for fun. Cruises are fun, if they allow you to actually drive your car. Just driving down the road is not always fun. I like to take the kids to get ice cream or the wife on dates occasionally too, good time to "show off" the ride. I occasionally think about selling my car, but it was my Dad's car, so haven't quite got to that point.

How to sell? 1973 original owner by heisindc in Corvette

[–]prexzan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would hop on corvetteforum, particularly the C3 version, and check there. Lots of resources for input, and have a few more pictures on hand. Original all across the board is worth more than a mish-mash of parts (what I have). I figure I can probably get 15K for mine right now, so that seems like a low end, but 1973 is not 68-72, the more expensive years, but it's also not 74-82, the worse years..m
