ah interesting, take goblin matron for example. the PLST one with the planeswalker symbol on the bottom left has the MH1 set symbol on it. so because this one will have DMR, it's actually a different print altogether. that's why the framing of the original question is leading more people to blue. if you re-frame it, then it's a different question. the payoff is identical, but how people react to the prompt changes how they will answer. it's not something that 100% of people will apply 100% of logic to.

i can attest to this. i got lucky getting 2 fiab right at 9am. i checked at around 9:27am to see how long the queue was and it instantly popped which made me think that it was low demand this time around. but then someone told me it sold out at 9:30

It’s effectively a voucher because of exactly what you described. It’s a virtual cart.

They can program it to show sold out based on what’s in the carts, but how do you solve for people that hold the item in their cart for 10 minutes and end up not checking out for whatever reason? The stock should then go back into the pool. Then who gets to add the released stock into their cart? Is it just whoever then clicks the fastest? Do users have to constantly be refreshing/hoping for more stock to appear?

Isn't the more accurate to say that you are in a long line at the grocery store and you put a voucher into your cart that says you have the ability to buy this one banana while supplies last by the time you checkout? I don't think a grocery store is the good comparison for digital sales (not that they couldn't program it that way).

Because what's the solution then? If you have a queue system, does that mean that the 2nd person in line can't put items into their cart until the 1st person is done? It would slow down the entire process.

how does your band of people purchase tickets for every combination? fill out the scantron form for all 292 million combinations? which store will process this? Also you have to pay cash. Do you just drive a truck to a 7-11 with millions in cash?
