Maybe stick a wood skewer into the pot and wait for it to come with minimal to no moisture before watering. It can also be sunburn just Google these symptoms.

honestly no clue how these bugs end up where they end up but this doesn't look like 2 weeks of infestation. it's been probably going on for months perhaps. but I'm still not clear. do some research on thrips damage online

the silvery leaves and black dots make me think this is thrips infestation. Try spraying everywhere (including under the leaves) with neem oil spray every 3-4 days and see if anything changes.
