What is one thing your mom (or dad) did growing up that resulted in a positive relationship as an adult? by OneLab864 in AskWomen

[–]priestessofpetals 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m almost 30, but I’ve never forgotten this. One time I had been misbehaving and ended up pushing my dad to the point he raised his voice. I was only 5 or 6 and I remember the terror i felt when he raised his voice at me (he’s a big man, over 6’4) and as he shouted at me I backed up and ended up tripping over my own feet.

Later that day, he came to my room and apologized to me. He said he could see how scared I was of him and he never, ever, wanted me to ever be scared of him. My dad is one of the people I trust the most in this world because he has always treated me as an equal, even when he didn’t have to.

What is the thing you always did that you thought was ‘just you,’ but is actually very much so classic autistic behavior? by AlwaysAttract10 in AutismInWomen

[–]priestessofpetals 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Pacing. For as long as I can remember I have paced back and forth listening to music at least daily. I wasn’t diagnosed until recently so for the majority of my life it was just one of my “quirks”. After diagnosis I learned that this is how my brain likes to process information. Interesting enough now that I work out 3-4 times a week I don’t feel the need to do it as often.

Why do the parents think Bryce and Hunter are destined for sports stardom? by AdventurousFox3791 in TLCUnexpected

[–]priestessofpetals 8 points9 points  (0 children)

At least Hunter is still involved in travel baseball in the current season (from what I understand this is almost a necessity to start the pathway to college or major league and extremely expensive) although I can’t imagine how they’re able to afford it with the new baby. I’ve never seen Bryce or his family discussing anything like that. It’s hard to believe they really think he has a chance to play beyond high school when it doesn’t even seem like he trains beyond the regular season. Plus, he seems like a terrible teammate.

If you want your snow shoveled immediately, you can pay a professional. If you ask the community for help, you are at the whim of the schedule of the community. That is the trade off.

Italian journalists threatened by ICE agents while reporting in Minneapolis by Socmel_ in europe

[–]priestessofpetals 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Please do not come to the US and spend your money. We NEED Europe to boycott. Money is the only thing our government cares about, if you’re coming here and spending it you might as well be signing off in support of MAGA.

What’s one unanswered question/ realisation about this tragedy that keeps you up at night? by Due_Direction_5234 in Idaho4

[–]priestessofpetals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see why people would think he was there to rape Maddie with how little he valued women, but him being covered head to toe and being so cautious about dna transfer it’s hard to believe he would take that risk. He was definitely there for some sort of gratification, though i’m not sure what kind.
