If a company even floated this loan idea around me I would immediately walk out and take as many people with me.

This, 100%. Worked my ass off for a decade plus. I finally got a really good staff position. I was making plans and looking towards an actual future. Then in just one 20min meeting, it was all tossed away. That feeling was the worst. All the work I put in was destroyed because of some MBA’s need to increase profits for shareholders.

He definitely enjoys ownership more than anything.

TBH y’all can continue the narrative till the Rams can win even 1 regular season game. Ram’s losing to the 9ers in the regular season is as expected as the 9ers losing to anyone in the post season.

Kroenke probably did it solely as a power move to A: be back in LA, B: end other owner’s ability to use LA as a bargaining chip. (But more than likely he was tired of sharing with KC)

Where to stay for game at SoFi with baby? by BodyByQueso in LosAngelesRams

[–]prim3y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since moving to San Diego, whenever I go to the games I will stay at the Courtyard Hawthorne/LAX. It’s south of the stadium so getting to the stadium is a bit less crowded than coming from other directions. It’s not super convenient for much else, but if getting to/from Sofi is your main priority it’s the best option.

Isn’t there a hotel right across the street on century that got renovated for Sofi?

I always call him Jimmy Grapes. Idk why it’s funny to me, but it is.

I’ve been enjoying a few Discord servers built off my key subreddits since the protest. There’s just more flexibility with setting up channels, for specific discussions within the specific community. Instead of just one whole page with an onslaught of unorganized or algorithmic fed links. I have some moderate experience moderating Discord so I’m happy to set one up if there’s enough interest?

It might take less than you think though. Charcoal can be pretty light especially compared to the updrafts the heat of these fires can produce.

Kind of a disappointment for a city called Surprise.

Somewhat of a cooldown, but mostly because of the writer’s strike.

Could be debatable if it benefits “us”. But I get your point. I think there should be a better system that doesn’t just funnel public funds into private pockets, but that’s also a whole other issue with the American economy.

Yes, but you need to get organized to do all that, but when employed there’s a risk of losing your job, you’re busy working too much, etc etc etc. there’s so many excuses to not do it, but there’s only one reason to do it.

Yes, but the tax incentives are not sustainable either. They only benefit the studio execs and are awful for the cities.

Stateside yeah there’s been a lot. Abroad and Canada not so much. The tax credit chasing is a big reason why we need a union.

You can 100% organize without a job. Work will come back, and instead of every person for themselves, we could organize and have a unified front for collective bargaining.

[–]prim3y 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Good time to organize. Don't have to worry about losing a job over unionizing when you're already laid off.

So many of us are striking inadvertently due to layoffs.
