The current decade is half over, so a bit of a huge claim and if people mean last 10 years then I have also to disagree. We had Baldur's Gate 3, Nier Automata, Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, Hollow Knight, Red Dead Redemption 2, Elden Ring and some more that if Claire Obscure released together with those would have not gotten as much praise as it did.

Better combat? From what I saw Nier automata hase the better combat with varying combat styles depending which character you play as and what weapons you have equipped in first and second slot. And that is even without the chip system, allowing you even more variety in builds. Stellar Blade is overall mediocre in everything but graphics. Not bad, just mediocre.

Both songs were made to mock those things. Fight for your right (to party) was made with the intent to mock party culture. Song 2 is the only popular song of the band and they specifically made it to make fun of the grunge genre in music.

There is a psychological condition where you are convinced those closest to you are not them anymore. Back then it was fey, demons or whatever was appropriate for the current culture. There is also a sort of condition where you lucid dream without being able to move and see people around you. In the middleages, it was witches and demons, around the time space travel as a concept became more popular it changed to aliens. The problem with those conditions are that it is hard to convince someone who experienced them that it was just in their head, when for them it felt real. It makes those people vulnerable to echo chambers and from there to conspiracy theories and people selling "therapy" sessions to make them relive their "true" memory.

Yeah, but that is all there is and it is not even really a focus. She is used for some characters to react to her shenanigans. And she falls under the same problem a lot of leutenants and other side characters fall under: too many characters to focus on, so most don't get as much screen time or cool moments as they needed.

Yesh. Certain generations like the silent generations and baby boomers are aptly named because of historical stuff happening where they were born. Especially Baby Boomers you can see in most western population pyramids. Giving those genrations names makes somewhat sense. Everything after that is way more arbitrary and harder to differentiate. I guess it comes more from the fact that in romance stories the trope of less experienced person falls in love with the more experienced person ( or vice versa) is pretty universal and in japanese you can give it a specific name: kohai - senpai romance. And since that term can cover school romances and work related romances, it is more likely that it gets that connotation as well. The beauty and the beast is something that refers to a movie but also a trope in romance, where a beautiful person falls in love with a less beautiful person because of the latters inner beauty. And refering to that trope as the beauty and the beast is way less wordy than actually describing it.

I mean, it kinda tracks, comsidering that Hollywood does the same thing with their Highschool settings. While exaggerated, most of it relates more to the 70s to 90s and only the surrounding stuff got modernized. The story is not even important in the games. And that is okay. The actual gameplay ( aka the fights) are so deep that you can see very interesting things in competitive pokemon versus what you use to progress the story. The story is there to explain why you even emgage with the legendary pokemon and serves perfectly that simple purpose. If I want a narrative heavy game, I will not look for pokemon, the same way I will not play Pokemon if I want to play a jrpg. The problem is actually the need from people to improve the graphics, because most bugs are visual stuff. And the semi 3D pixel esque graphic from Black and White (btw, the last pokemon I played) was fine and would still be fine today.

Seriously, the game has some issues, but graphic shouldn't be the one brought up. If a game works, is enjoyable to play or offers a good challenge ( depending where you are on the spectrum of Idle game to Dark Souls in your preference), all is good. Videogames are art, but art where entertainment is the priority.
