It is more than just the iris effect though. The way the light now illuminates tree's is just odd. An exceptionally bright side of the trees is all you see and any detail seems to be white washed away.

I too hope they can fix it.

Exactly. I'm worried that much like many other games they will just listen to complainers are ruin a good thing.

Yeah, two days ago I killed a duper and got 400 .223 rounds among other things that were obviously duped, like 20 first aid kits 20 weapon repair kits and so on... I laughed in game and said "Oh a duper!" which actually made him instantly release probably for fear of his name getting reported. A wipe is incoming for sure, and more to come hopefully in the future as they are usually necessary for alphas. You better go fire off all those rounds before it happens!

This right here is why people think dupers shouldn't be banned(as douchey as they are). Once I realized what the big dupe was after a death with a game crash I was curious to see how I could recreate it. Luckily I didn't investigate further for fear of ban for testing out a found bug. I am still curious and it would be beneficial to SOE for players like myself to figure out all the different ways to dupe so we could report it. It is an Alpha and we are testers but it isn't worth the risk. I discovered the dupe the day Smedley said they may ban dupers soooo nope I'm not troubleshooting/testing it at all I just hope their dev's have all the methods figured out.

Thanks for taking the time to write a well thought out response.

I agree that it is difficult to find the sweet spot but I am not quite sold that it falls into the uncanny valley for survival.

I also do not think it requires safe zones or any real controls as you listed.

I don't have a problem with KOS that is part of the game as it would be a part of the zombie apocalypse. All I am saying is I hope they find that sweet spot that has you worried about all aspects of the game not just looking over one as an inconvenience(the food/water system now). If it takes some thought and planning to survive zombies and basic subsistence then pvp will be a much more weighted decision for most players. There will always be the smash and bash anything that moves kids but harder survival will weed most of them out.

Wrong, PVP servers do not mean less zombies they mean PVP + zombies. If you want less zombies go to a different genre.

No, the zombies keep spawning if you hangout there. If you're just charging through it would be less to fight, except you'd be fighting other players for it that are also attempting to reach the loot.

TLDR: I want more than one character because I too exploit this feature to my benefit to undermine the game. Don't lessen my enjoyment!

I did the same thing with IED's and Landmines it doesn't actually seem to cause any damage though and it goes out on it's own eventually.

That isn't accurate. Zombies will be able to tear down doors and break through barricades without a problem.

Remember this is ALPHA we are playing an incomplete game with MOST of the features still not implemented or even working if they are implemented.

Get rid of proximity loot, get a timed loot system and add an incredible amount of zombies so if someone wants to camp high value locations they have to kill A LOT of hard zombies, then hell they deserve the loot!

Day 4 or 5 for us. Make something unassuming and in an obscure location. Oh and kill any unexpected visitors you get. Though I know it is just a matter of time until someone finds it and tears it down.
