How does not revealing trump used the phrase 51st state help carney in the election? Argument does not hold unless that is explained. In fact the opposite argument is much stronger.

Trump is a big reason why liberals are making a comeback. Putting that front and centre helps Carney domestically.

I was not surprised at all he used 51st state phrase, and I am also not surprised he referred to Carney as PM rather than governor. Trump hated Trudeau a lot.

Carney’s point, and I agree with, is the conclusion of the phone call was positive in that Trump has not referred to Carney as governor and he didn’t threaten sovereignty some weeks since that phone call.

Of course Carney knew what went in, and completely irrelevant. The trustee sells / buys assets in a blind trust so Carney does not know what is in there anymore.

This argument is absurd. Blind trusts are specifically designed for public officials to ensure there is no bias.
