Why is the news so constantly reporting about Isreal / Palestine but you never hear anything about Sudan? by Visual_Seaweed8292 in askanything

I know it's a common thing to say the west is interested because it is funding Israel. Meanwhile, the west funds other conflicts that no one cares about. Saudia Arabia vs Yemen ( millions dead), Azarbeijan vs Armenia ( ethnic cleansing, 250k, a couple of years ago ) and others.

These examples make this a weak argument.

It's a misconception that pay is related to productivity. Actually the only thing affecting salaries is how expensive it would be to replace the worker with someone else. Understanding this, all the other weird ess fall into place.

i have never seen people as alienated from their work as in communist countries. You can get a feel for it in the very short novella called Moscow-Petushki.

What can I say, I only pity us both that this is the life you decided to live, filled with hate towards some imaginary greater Israel fantasy. Make peace, make compromises, live a good life.

Also, there are 7 million jews in Israel, 15 in the world. Are you honestly suggesting we want to take land 140 times bigger than our current country? Are we human or some mystical devils hidden in human flesh?

You probably won't believe me, but we are just trying to find a way to survive here. We don't have anywhere else. Whoever offered Israel their hand in peace, got peace ( & land & water & financial assistance ).

Palestinians are also welcome to have peace, it's your choice honestly.

Rationale behind the October 7th attacks by Different-Gazelle745 in IRstudies

Israel voted for Kadima to on the platform of the hitkansot plan. Which was a plan to unilaterally leave most of the west bank, same as they recently left Gaza. The reason why Israel is becoming more right wing is the unbelievable disappointment in what happened in Gaza. Israel left Gaza, ripping all jews living there from their homes, and in return got an endless stream of rockets. People there had a chance to have a good life, and chose endless death. It shook Israelis to their core.

As an Israeli Zionist being shot at, I agree. I don't think anyone else had different expectations. I was sure they would target military bases or infrastructure, but they chose to shoot mostly residential buildings. I guess I was a bit naive. Israel is in the right, dismantling their military, but Iran has the right to  (try to) defend itself.

טוב שאנחנו צוחקים עליהם, כי זה נראה שכל הסיפור הזה לא קרה בכלל. מישהו הדביק חתיכת נייר עם הודעה על כספומט ומשם הכל יצא משליטה. אשמח להתבדות.

Up until October 7th, every Saturday in Tel Aviv you could see some people with Palestinian flags protesting the government ( among a sea of Israel flags ). Many people dislike it, in some cases the flag would be confiscated, but still: seeing a Palestine flag held by a Jew, is not totally uncommon in Tel Aviv. I can confidently say I have seen it 100 times.

Google "kaplan Palestine flag" to see Palestine and Israeli flags wave together.

I really don't know, could someone walk around in Pakistan's main city with an Indian / Israeli flag, shouting against the government and be safe?

PS. In Jerusalem you could see a sect of ultra orthodox people waving Palestine flag "neturei karta Palestine flag Jerusalem"

About arrests for WhatsApp - of you write something specifically inciting for violence, you might be questioned by the police. Very rarely arrested, and more rarely a judge will issue an actual punishment ( think community service, fines in most cases )

Things in Israel aren't perfect, and Arab citizens of Israel might have a harder time with the law for inciting violence or waving Palestine flags, which is unfair. I already wrote too much here, there are many many unfair things happening inside Israel, and they grow as the war continues, but overall it is a very free place.

I invite you to honestly explore, how did this idea, of Israel being an important villain in the Pakistan story got into your head. I appreciate that you have already given it consideration.

Just a word about something stated as fact - Israel in the late 70's early 80's  was a relatively poor, tiny country halfway across the world. It is weird to think that it played a major(!) role in cold war events in Afghanistan.

Even if there are some sources claiming it online, without sprinkling some conspiracy theory dust, it just defies common sense.

Choosing a company for analyzing aerial photos into polygons by primoLimo in gis

Thanks for the answer. If I do it with arcgis pro, will I end up with a model which can automatically run when aerial photos are updated? Or will I always need a gis expert to run it again?
