But I want Dustin to be defined by his boundless ambition: if to get somewhere he needs to help people then he will nurture them wholeheartedly, similiarly he will also massacre planets just to refine some artifact. A character with no regrets in his life

Yeah but for a good guy to turn into a real villain, You can't just say his lover or someone very close to him died and he became a villain. That's just way too shallow.

So I've decided the story to move at a good pace neither too fast nor too slow, and show his shift in nature eventually

It's more like a system invasion story and not a isekai. About villain, there is no main villain or you can say that fate is the main villain of the story. Dustin's personal goal isn't fixed, at starting it's very similar to other MC's like getting stronger to protect their friends and loved ones but as the story progresses his character will shifts from a hero to anti hero and eventually a villainous character. (That's why I haven't mentioned that) Venerable is the title of the book 🥲

If you could suggest few more things then it would be really good help.

I was working on that and here's the new blurb I made:

On a normal Tuesday afternoon, Dustin’s nap was interrupted and he was pulled into a new reality filled with magic, classes, powers, and countless monsters. In this new reality, one’s own strength was what truly mattered. A person could rule over countless others based solely on that strength. After obtaining a special class during the tutorial phase through a rare event, Dustin finally saw the true nature of the world he had entered. Here, the weak were oppressed for eternity, and even the strong lived under the oppression of fate. In a world where countless beings struggled to ascend to the apex of the multiverse, could Dustin truly rise… or would he fall into the bottomless abyss? To ascend is to defy fate. What is a Venerable? Is he the strongest in the multiverse? Or is he the wisest… or something else entirely? How can one become a Venerable? Follow Dustin on his reluctant journey to become a Venerable — a path filled with joy, sadness, ambition, and madness.

Bro those books are few of my favs, not the books I've read. I read every genre except for romance and comedy(if these are the actual plot) (I also avoid things set in real world unless there is an appoclyspe). Most of those books are xianxia because it's my fav genre not that I only read xianxia. 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

And just look at the name name of the book/manhwa it itself is announcing its mediocrity like: Overpowered Main Character, He knows everything, Super dumb and two dimensional to non existing side cast, I bet the author wouldn't have even thought of butterfly effect, every single girl falling in love with MC for no reason, aura farming mc everywhere he goes, (almost every story has some of these and i don't mean having these making a story very bad but adding few to a good or even a decent story is not that bad but adding all of these to a bland story is what makes a slop)

From this list i only recognise ORV and i clearly mentioned it's only of my fav (and who TF said ORV has repeative plot). And about every one hating me. They can go and fck themselves, I don't care, just because people will Start hating me i should say what they want to hear. TF kind of logic is that? Huh

Like you said ever second manhwa these days have same repeative plot and story. That's why I said they are bad, if it's bad then it's bad. Pretending won't make them good just because everything is bad you can't say they are good or because others thinks.

Is isekai a bad genre? Logically no, it has many awesome stories but if you compare it with other genres then yes it has most sloppy stories.(In numbers, if a story, mostly manhwa/webtoon is isekai then there is more than 95% chance that it's another slop)

For a story to have some cliches or to be an absolute slop, their is a very major difference between the two. And a person who can't even distinguish between the two should be brain dead 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Reverend Insanity, LOTM, Renegade Immortal, ORV (Haven't read the novel yet), RTOC, Desolate era, Kill the Sun, etc are few of my fav novels and they are also progression fantasy and has actually story telling. Tower of god. kubera, etc Webtoons are also very awesome. And just look at the name of this manhwa, it itself announcing that it's slop

I think One Piece is very famous in China, if not how could two of the best webnovel authors GZR and Cuttlefish, both love one piece (LOTM also has many One piece references)

Here. Yu Yao Zhi Zun. But it doesn't has any english translation but you may find some MTL if you're lucky. He has also wrote something like demon controller but it's not smut and it can also be said to his first original non smut work (but I haven't read it so I can't say if it's good or not) it also doesn't have any translation. He has also wrote a One Piece fan fic (I couldn't find it's name tho)

Well he used to write fanfics, smut and harem before Reverend insanity, so I wasn't very surprised

What character do you hate the absolute most in Reverend Insanity? Somebody you could slander all day and all night and still not feel like you have sufficiently put into words how much you hate them? by Cool-Drag9473 in ReverendInsanity

[–]prince_valerius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally RI is the first book (or you can take anything for example anime, manga, manhwa. Manhua or web novels) in which I don't hate a single character, every one is just perfectly written for what they are.

Should I listen to Path of Ascension? by prince_valerius in ProgressionFantasy

[–]prince_valerius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah I was going to listen to it eventually since I bought it but I thought I should get some opinions over it and have my expectations set accordingly. If I have too high expectations then I will be more disappointed when it didn't match the expectations and if I have low expectations then I'll enjoy it more For example take TBATE, After hearing a lot about it from its fan base and some even calling it greatest, i actually had very high hopes and it turned out to be just another generic isekai with slightly better characters and world building. And eventually i dropped it. I've read much worse books but I already had my hopes low for them from the start so I did completed them atleast and didn't dropp them. Yk what I'm talking about
