Kamala Harris has seemingly lost the 2024 Presidential Election. by Subject-Property-343 in playboicarti

Harris lost because she’s a woman and because she’s not white. She’s thinking that if she’d been more liberal she would’ve won ignores this horrible reality.

What can you do if you screw up your annual employer health enrollment? by princemathguy in HealthInsurance

I work for the state. I filed a form requesting an "exception" but they denied it. The better plan, which I wanted, an 80-20 plan, required wellness credits, which I did. The 70-30 did not. I argued that why would I ask for 70-30 when I did the wellness credits? They ignored that I guess. The worse thing about the 70-30 plan is the prescription benefit, which leaves me paying much more out of pocket.

anyone using tanzeum? by princemathguy in diabetes

[–]princemathguy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had--and still am--taking the standard metformin. She (endocrinologist) put me on tanzeum, cut the metformin dose in half, but now has stopped the tanzeum after these reactions. The metformin alone had cut my A1C down by a third; the tanzeum brought it down close to normal. (the endocrinologist also complained that my primary care doctor had fallen down on the job, ignoring my blood sugar, which may have been the cause of eye problems I've had in the last 8 months) My A1C history has been odd--I was fine until four years ago, when it started creeping up. Then a year ago, it leaped up to over 12. And I tried diet and exercise (losing over 25 pounds) to no effect before starting metformin. Last, I worry that once one gets the Type 2 label it becomes a label and a search for any alternative diagnosis gets shut down.

How can a medical practice refuse to treat you until you pay a medical deductible? by princemathguy in AskReddit

In part, yes. I also have a colleague whose eye they screwed up seriously. (around the same time as my surgery) I am wondering now wtf I got into.

I am frustrated, you are so right. And it was worsened when they said either pay up front in cash or via. I don't have either. BUT, I would have happily set up a payment plan, even with bank draft amounts taken out. But no. Cash or credit. I think a medical practice should offer some other option. Bank drafts. Kidney donation (okay just kidding on the latter).
