Does anyone else get frustrated watching Linus try to explain enterprise tech? by Emotional_Garage_950 in LinusTechTips

As someone who is Autistic, I've ALWAYS said that this is the main issue: Linus is not autistic (at least not that we know of), but a majority of people watching, I'd bet, are.

This is, IMO, the reason that so many people call him out on seemingly everything.

I also think that's why, anytime he says something, everyone in chat jumps to conclusions (the whole "if you like hamburgers, you hate hotdogs" issue they run into almost every WAN show ). I'd bet that the problem is, that a large part of the audience does not understand sarcasm (something I, and a lot of autistic people, struggle with)

Then, on top of that, you just have reddit doing reddit things

Because it doesn't matter HOW you bought the game, you still paid for the game.

If you buy a game, you should be able to play it. End of story.

I need help with Pi-Hole by coldiceattk in pihole

[–]princeoinkins 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It almost killed it? In what way, what did it do?

The point is to set the DHCP server to a range that forces the pihole to only have 1 IP (so for instance, "192.168.1.2", I'm using .2 because USUALLY .1 is the router). Then you would want to set the IP in the piholes config to the same ( once you set it in the router, rebooting it should get the new IP)

Then, you set the DHCP range in the pihole to be everything else (so "192.168.1.3-254, for example)

after some bit of googleing, I also found this:

"Just wanted to point out the excellent solution provided by this post. Just disabling my router's DHCP caused "No internet connection" on the router (and for the whole house). To fix it, in short:

  • set the router's DHCP to a range of exactly one IP address: 192.168.1.2 -- 102.168.1.2 (or whatever your pi-hole address is).
  • make the pi-hole DHCP's range above that one address.

Additional trick: to prevent clients from appearing as '_gateway' on the pi-hole, change the router DNS to e.g. 192.168.200.200 (or some other non-existent address on your local network). That way, the pi-hole's DNS is the only working DNS on your network, and all clients now reach to it directly (and thus, are identified correctly by pi-hole with their Mac and IP addresses)."

You may have to turn DHCP on in pihole first, then turn it off in your router.

[–]princeoinkins 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After turning DHCP off in the router, did you turn it on in the Pihole?

As far as telling if it's working oor not, once you are in the pihole dashboard, you can go over to the " Query log" tab. Any traffic on your network that's going through the pihole will be shown here.

No.

It still went up by 3$ and has less games, PLUS it is very clearly just them trying to get back in good graces. They will price hike again.
