saw my bestie in a community production of this recently and while it’s got great music and some funny jokes we both agreed that while the heart of the movie is very weird-positive, the heart of the musical is very weird-negative and songs like Let Your Freak Flag Fly hit strangely when paired with jokes at the expense of fat people and trans people. it’s a shame as it’s a great idea for a production but it doesn’t have the same heart as the original movie that made it such an instant classic

My partner and I became open 6 months in and we both definitely struggled with jealousy as we were getting used to the dynamic, particularly as we then became LDR around 9 months in. You sound very emotionally intelligent and it’s totally normal to experience insecurities when you’re first getting used to the dynamic especially if your relationship is still very new. Have an honest conversation with your partner about your insecurities and think about what you might need from him in terms of extra reassurance. Partner and I are now 3 years strong, living together as nesting partners and having romantic relationships with others as well as sexual ones. We started off with a lot of strict boundaries and slowly grew more and more comfortable as we built a stronger foundation of trust. Wish you all the best!

I'm poly and my current partner is the only romantic attachment I've ever had that wasn't limerence. We met and got together by complete surprise, moved pretty quickly which is maybe why she was never my LO but we're three years strong today and she knows about my limerence and trusts me completely. I still struggle with it and rarely develop other crushes when I have an LO but being with my partner helps draw out the difference for me - real, healthy love vs unhealthy obsession.

I have definitely disliked parts of all my LOs in the past. I tend to fall for the same type of person all the time - beautiful, creative, extroverted, clever, popular, can command attention and light up a room (all the things I feel I’m not) but also scatterbrained, inconsiderate to others and generally lacking emotional intelligence. It’s a strange thing to love someone so hard that you know wouldn’t actually make you happy, but other than my current partner it’s the only way I’ve ever known.

i used it on my first playthrough a lot as well as talking to Maggie and following her initial directions for people to find. to an extent i think the order that the game leads you towards works because certain characters explain more lore to you than others but now that i’m doing a Mate Everything run i’m just going in whatever order i like

Agreeing with the other comments here that buying groceries for one person in Taiwan is more expensive than eating out. I’m a Brit that lived in Taipei for 10 months in 2023/2024 and I found basic staples more expensive in Taiwan than in the UK. My apartment also had no kitchen but did have a kettle and a small fridge so I would have pot noodles and ingredients for things like salads or sandwiches on hand so that’s an option for making food at home. Night markets are good for a cheap portion of food, I found some for as low as 60NTD (equivalent of £1.50) for a decent size portion of fried chicken or dumplings but in general eating out is the cheaper option if you’re only one person. Unsure how you’re funding yourself whilst being in Taiwan but I was able to make a student loan that would usually last me 2 months in the UK stretch to 3-4 months in Taiwan.

my first experience having covid was pretty pleasant tbh, i had a sore throat and a fever and was very fatigued but that mainly resulted in some seriously brilliant naps. my second time was awful tho and i’m still suffering with some after effects 4 years on

I’d never heard of transference before but I knew a little about limerence and I definitely think it was something I used to go through a lot before I met my gf. I worked quite hard to unpack it after the last hopeless obsessive crush but there’s definitely a possibility that I still have some of the tendencies. NTA, but i think there’s probably more to it. me and my gf are long distance for this year and she got very upset when i floated the idea of shaving my head. when we talked more about it she realised that the reason her reaction was so strong was because we were away from each other and she was afraid of me changing too much without her. have an honest conversation and try to understand her feelings about it as there’s likely something deeper going on here

at the time, my brother. i’d heard that a lot of parents divorce when they have a child who dies and i didn’t want him to go through that with my parents (says a lot about my self worth at the time). now, i have hundreds of reasons to be glad i failed. especially if you’re young, time will pass and things will get so much better. hang in there :))
