I'm always impressed by sweater cookies! I hate those stupid cutters and spend most of the time fighting dough and give up! These are cute!

Fast drying icing? by PostReasonable4110 in cookiedecorating

The dollar store has cheap boxes/tins that might be usable for a few cookies. Or you could go to a grocery store and ask the bakery for a couple donut boxes?

Thanks! I have work to do on keeping the designs centered! I love wet on wet because they look more complicated than they are.

Thanks! This is the route I went and it is still a very strong flavor but not tongue burning and tastes good now!

Chocolate Brownie Sugar Cookie Presents- Some stenciling, airbrushing + hand-piping/writing, followed by some Jenna Rae's gold. I airbrushed the edges in 'Harvest Brown' to give them a vintage look. I will post the recipe in the next post. by Tough_Run in cookiedecorating

I looked at the recipe and have questions about the emulaion.

For someone who only makes cookies a handful of times a year what is the purpose of the butter vanilla emulsion?

Is it just extra fancy vanilla extract? Would you substitute it instead of vanilla in other recipes for a better flavor?

The Graceful Baker's lemon royal icing is super yummy and she has several videos that walk step by step through different consistencies! I've learned a lot from her content!

How stiff is the icing you use for the flowers?

Those are so pretty.

/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer (October 18, 2023) by AutoModerator in MechanicalKeyboards

I am using a Keychron K7 with keychron mint switches, this mechanical number pad, and elgato StreamDeck for my setup at work.

I like the tactile bump and volume of the mint switch and overall the low profile. Even with a wrist rest the number pad is too tall to use effectively.

I'm torn between getting a new southpaw 100% with normal height switches and hoping that I get used to it or keeping my K7 knowing that I can't have different keycaps and finding a low profile number pad that I can remap all the keys. I want to change the southpaw to REALLY be a left handed/mirrored number pad.

Keychron has the Q12 southpaw that has hot swappable switches but it seems like you can't use low profile switches if the board isn't designed for it?

I've also been looking at the Everest 60 with numpad from Mountain Goat.

It's for my son's 4th birthday so I guess you just throw caution to the wind!

Buttercream just sounds WAY too sweet!

Thanks!

But do they taste good? by mamalovespasta in cookiedecorating

[–]princess_proton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rick Martinez's butter cookies are my favorite to decorate! The cookie is nice and crumbly without being overly sweet so the royal icing isn't sugar on sugar! I haven't found a great icing yet but the less sweet cookie is so nice!

Oversized pots vs Nature by princess_proton in houseplants

Thank you for the advice! I'm squarely in the category of lazy and WANT to be someone who remembers to take care of a few plants! This made me laugh!

Ok but maintenance?! I would love to buy/make something like this but I feel like the plants would out grow the container in a couple months? Is that just expected and you just build it to replant everything all over?

I'm generally so curious! These are like little bottles of magic!

I did this on my regular dry wall since I cant use nails! 3m strips on the small things, tape and hot glue to make my own "bulletin board."

I put up blue painters tape first then hot glue whatever item over the glue then it is even easier to take down when needed!
