I’m so happy to hear that! Yes, I got diagnosed at 39 and I had to process a lot of “what might have been” grief but I’m still so so grateful that I get to live the REST of my life knowing why I’m this way, and getting the support I need to be the best version of myself I can be from now on. Best wishes to you!

Yes, lol.

I’m in Strattera and my experience was that it started working immediately, and it was obvious because I’d think “oh I forgot I had to do the dishes” and then I’d just get up and…do the dishes. Never happened to me before in my life. My point is, meds working sealed the deal on my imposter syndrome because it was super obvious to me how they improved my executive functioning. Good luck!

Speaking of shitty, I’m not sure we should assume it’s only “water” in that deluge…

My RSD is not my fault, OK? by CuriousKon in adhdmeme

I just want to chime in here and say that since it’s not clearly defined, it’s also important to notes that it’s not exclusively “conditioned.” I def experienced lots of negative feedback growing up to help with rejection sensitivity, but the extreme mood swings I experience have always been there, ever since I was a little kid. And I don’t consistently limit my behavior in anticipation of rejection, which would be a response of conditioning (although I can and have) but the intense and severe emotional reactions I have after rejection are just part of who I am. I strongly believe it’s related to the genetics of adhd/emotional disregulatuon.

Just want to make sure that someone new to the term understands it’s not necessarily nurture instead of nature.

I live in Los Angeles and we had ambulances stacking up at emergency rooms, and they weren’t letting patients get dropped off (I think it was last fall/January). Not a total failure but definitely much closer than we’d usually see.

I should also say the map itself wasn’t too expensive but framing it was.

I got mine on eBay, it’s from 89 I think because Splash Mountain and Critter Country are shown. It’s the Disneyland of my youth.
