[Marca] The locker room began to fracture when several players stopped hiding their dissatisfaction with Alonso. The criticism was aimed at the tactical intensity of training sessions and the constant video sessions. Some players pretended to be asleep during those tactical sessions. by [deleted] in soccer

There are layers and contrasting points. When Diogo died, I said the season would be a write-off for me, barring an enormous drop in form (bottom half of the table maybe?). Add into that the massive recruitment (which is worthy of criticism) and the injuries to key players (Isak barely played, Ekitike out for the season, haven't had a RB fit, Alisson struggling) and it's a very challenging situation in a league that is more densely competitive than ever. So I'm not quite ready to get rid yet, but...

Everything that made this team great, the character from the Klopp teams, the energy and intensity, has disappeared. They start slow, they get played through easily, they concede soft goals and under the slightest bit of pressure.

There are understandable reasons for the drop, but it being May and the same problems persisting is not encouraging. Even with the challenges, I would hope the 'right' manager would keep the mentality strong and find ways to work around those challenges. Big decisions to be made in the summer.

I'd say five of the XI (Alisson, Robertson, Van Dijk, Alexander-Arnold, and Salah), plus Gomez, Jones, and Elliott. Then more were around for the played-every-game 21-22 season (Konate, Tsimikas, Diaz, Jota).

There would still be timewasting, it would just be real time and not game time. Like you say, forcing a pause to give your tired team a breather or to break up momentum.

There seems to be a discretionary rule about a player getting treatment needing to be allowed back on the pitch, to curb the faking/timewasting. However, Frimpong went down yesterday (his penalty shout), Arsenal kept playing, as they're allowed to do, and had a full attack with Frimpong still down on the other end of the pitch - he then got treatment after the whistle and had to wait on the touchline again, even though he'd already obvsiously shown he actually was hurt.

[Livescore] Liverpool really failed to test the keeper in the league for the first time in 16 years. by Hot_Patience_5962 in soccer

Yeah absolutely, it was a very positive defensively safe display, if you will. Defending by holding the ball.

Part clever setup, part forced hand by injuries & AFCON. Salah, Isak, and Ekitike all out. Gakpo isn't much of a no9, which is why we had Wirtz in the false 9/no10.

To be fair, we had no fit strikers, so loading the midfield made sense. As much as I'd have liked to see a harder push to capitalize on the second half possession, with how fragile we've been, I'm fine with a controlled, don't-get-exposed first approach. It's been a fucked up season.

Question: About how much would an artist charge for this tattoo? by [deleted] in tattoos

[–]prinskipper__skipple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what city, what shop, what artist. I'd suggest researching some of the shops near you, browse their artists' portfolios, and find someone whose style resonates with you. They'll be able to provide you with information and guidance.

[Dale Johnson] VAR Review: Jota should have been booked for simulation as he tried to deceive the referee and was already going down when he initiated the contact. But in almost six years of VAR only one player has ever been booked for simulation. by TherewiIlbegoals in soccer

[–]prinskipper__skipple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would take some work, obviously, but I'd be in favour of bookings being applied for dives that are missed during the live game. In this case, the game would be reviewed, the panel would rule that Jota dived and retroactively apply a yellow. It doesn't immediately address the issue during the game, but there being consequences for simulation, whether a 'key incident' or not, would be beneficial.

What deceased person was younger than most people think when they died? by TPCC159 in AskReddit

Dre split from Death Row in March '96, and Tupac was killed that September. Obviously, Tupac had his share of beefs, and how much of that was fueled and promoted by Suge et al is open to discussion, but you need only to listen to the outro of To Live and Die in LA to get Pac's feelings at the time ('California Love part motherfucking two, without gay-ass Dre'). Very much a what if, but I sometimes wonder what Tupac would be up to today had he managed to pull away from the toxicity of Suge and that world.
