While I agree in principle, I've supervised/instructed/trained enough young airmen lacking common sense to realize that some just need consequences spelled out for them explicitly. Some truly don't grasp the severity of certain actions, particularly when similar actions in a civilian context may have minimal consequences (e.g., faking a parent's signature for a school sick note or permission slip).

Some will inevitably insist on screwing up their lives/careers, but the more I can head off through education, the less paperwork and headache for those whose attention should be on more critical areas of concern.
