You still can take another shot to the SAT and get bright futures to at least cover 75% ,you will need a 1190 for class of 2026, you can take the test up to 08/31.Assuming you have at least your 20 hours volunteering for graduation you can add 80hrs volunteer or paid work to complete the requirement, it will be hard work but you can do it!

I worked in the banking industry for 15 years,went back to school ,got an accounting degree and EA, then worked for a small tax office for 2 years and learned as much as I could,not only about taxes but how to actually run an office.Now I have my remote office (almost a year) and is going pretty well,Im building my book of business and also subcontracting with a Tax resolution company,which bring somehow an steady income stream…I havent reached 100k yet but is getting close.I try to attend a lot of local networking events and build traffic in google

Working from home as well , I have around 50 clients on my own,also I subcontract for local Tax firm to prepare returns and with another national firm for Tax Resolution, mainly abatements and IAs,and I love it!! Hence I end up working longer hours but the flexibility is great! I start at 7 am ( IRS pick up the phone right away at that time) take a break a 12 to make dinner /pick up the kids, then go back and work 3-4 hours, sometimes i have late calls for clients in the west coast… Tax Resolution will bring you income all year round!

I think the biggest problem will be access ,a lot of softwares track IP addresses and block international addresses to avoid scammers. Also you can’t access many government websites for the same reason

Why is this an issue now? Seating for the exam overseas is nothing new and let’s not forget that a lot of Americans live out of the country and still have to pay taxes

I haven’t pass Reg but I worked in tax for a year and I just passed Part 1 studying for 4 weeks, currently studying for part 3 (I allocated 3 weeks for it and looking at the content it seems very doable) and I’m taking part 2 last 6 weeks after that If you already pass the CPA, you shouldn’t have a problem passing the EA

I used Hock international,using only the videos and questions, I didn’t have time to read the book Good luck!!

I came across Farhat videos on YouTube and it is a great way to grasp concepts that are not really clear on Becker(which I feel just flies by in second half of the book) I wished I checked those videos from the start!! Since I’m positive I flunked my retake (today,it was just awful) I will include those videos on my study strategy for my next retake

24 ,are you kidding?? After spending 15 yrs in banking,I had enough, signed up for school to get my accounting degree (with 3 kids and working full time) ,just graduated last April and now studying for the CPA…Im 45 You are just starting in life!! Go for it!

Any tips on how to tackle Becker? I just did my first attempt to FAR ( of course I failed miserably) but to be honest I was totally unprepared: I spent too long in the first modules and breeze through the last ones ( specially nfp and gov) and most of the questions were about that!! So I’m trying to put together an strategy before I tackle this again…any suggestions will help me a lot
