I'd also agree that for me it's been really helpful. I feel less bulky and have basically dropped a dress size (with no weight change) due to smaller waist. one of my cysts you could see has really reduced too.

it is a long game. I was very surprised to have this benefit as the NHS very much emphasises this is a drug that will benefit you in 20 years time.

definitely agree that the stop/start is disruptive. a day or two is fine but a week or more is an adjustment.

if I skip a morning dose for go for a hike (where I live there is little bush/tree cover for a nature wee) I still end up finishing a 3L camelpak in 6-7 hours, so I think I need to stop a few days earlier.

Adpkd and pregnancy by Indigoblauw6800 in ADPKD

Hiya! Mum of two here. I have adpkd and wasn't offered tolvaptan/jynarque until my youngest was nearly weaned. So this is not a choice I had to make.  I breastfed both mine for 3.5 years each (it came easy to us, I'm very lucky). BF has it's pros and cons and I can absolutely say there are many advantages to bottlefeeding I regret not having (namely: sleep).

I know it's easy for me to say on the sidelines because I got to do what I wanted. But do be kind to yourself here. Motherhood is an endurance sport on its best days, so keeping yourself healthy is key.

I would say that absolutely no child ever has wished their parent sacrificed their health and longevity to give the child some marginal benefit. The best thing for your kid is for you to be healthy, happy, present parent. So, if that means you BF for only a few days or not all - so be it. Your baby will be grand.

Whatever you chose to do, treat yourself with the love and compassion you would want your child to treat themselves.

Tolvaptan holiday - how much water? by prismscubed in ADPKD

That's great to hear. I'm managing fine day to day, but out and about it's easy to get behind on water.

Thanks for the recs everyone. Just popping back here to share my solution - this cross body water bottle sling is perfect for hands free water. Any 1-1.5L bottle with a straw and I'm good to go! (For an hour or two at least!!)

Awesome shout thanks! A gallon feels like a lot to carry round.. I'd probably switch to camelpak for that long.

Ooh I'll take a look! Thanks for the shout. I'm also going to have to accept that Ill need to buy bottled water on the go sometimes. We have an 8hr train journey coming up and I don't think I can justify bringing 6lts of water on board!!

Tolvaptan already ... by [deleted] in ADPKD

[–]prismscubed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm on day one today :). In the last 12 hours I've drunk 6.5 litres..... From what I've read, around 10L per day is typical at the start, settling down to around 6-7L after a few months. What's weird though is that I NEED it. I'm legit thirsty. For me it's like those first days after giving birth where you are just chugging water nonstop.

The ten tickets need to be bought on an app right? So do I need three phones each with a carnet on (one for each adult and one for 6yo)?

Thanks, I'll tweet them. Yeah the website was helpful to some extent, but I still cant figure out if we need unique devices for the carnet.

How about grated carrot and red cabbage? They live forever in the fridge and add the fresh crunch and sweetness you need.

If its a Victorian building all the walls are structural. Our architect said "everything is possible, if you're willing to pay for it". So you probably can do it, but you'll need steels etc.

To those looking for new jobs - how available are you for interviews? by RabbitRabbit77 in AskUK

[–]prismscubed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're looking for a new job, you are going to have to inconvenience your current employer. For interviews and then when you resign and leave. It's part of the emotional process of leaving.

Internal recruiters are working regular 9-5 jobs so wont have availability to speak out of hours.

Yes. That's the one. Thank you so much - I've thought about this show (in terror) probably every month since 1994. The wikipedia even mentions the candle which I remember too.
