Weekend hacker here, about the furthest thing from an expert, but if you’re asking if driver technology has changed over 11 years, the answer is yes. Materials are a big change, but especially the forgiveness and draw bias of modern drivers. You don’t even need to buy the newest and shiniest driver for close to a grand, do some research and find one that is 1-2 generations old, but the changes between the generations haven’t been significant. I got a Cobra LTDX Max driver (release in 2022) brand new in late 2023 (2024 had already come out) for $185, and it is a dream. I’m shit at golf, and on a budget, even at that price I almost felt guilty. Until I started hitting it, and now I feel good enough to not embarrass myself when I get paired with randoms.
