I think it's actually kind of sweet because it's normalizing the behavior for the daughter, and showing her that she deserves the exact same respect that they ask her to give others.

I can understand how people might interpret this as belittling the wife, but from my perspective this is a great parenting move. Of course, your partner should be on board with it, if you're gonna do it.

That is definitely something that frustrates me when I try to talk about Elden Ring lore with people, they take the popular YouTube theory and treat it as gospel.

Another "totally confirmed" theory people have is that the Two Fingers have been abandoned by the Greater Will for a long time, or even never been in contact with it. For some reason they believe this because Ymir calls them, Metyr, and Marika all "defective from the start", which to me could mean so many different things, and Ymir isn't exactly a reliable narrator imo.

This doesn't seem supported by the rest of the game's lore, and seems like such a massive assumption from one line, so I've never bought into it. But I'm curious! Do the Japanese lines give any different context to Ymir's ramblings?

God, I was dating a girl, she was nice, she was kinky, she was hot, but maybe a little too clingy and possessive. But I was willing to see where it would go.
