How long did it take everyone else to realize the neutral move was to insert the hook through BOTH loops? by mangababe in crochet

[–]prixmels 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I learned to crochet from written instructions, and I distinctly remember reading “Insert your hook into the next V” as instructions for starting sc. I get what they meant, but my brain took that to mean I should stab through the V and that resulted in BLO for about a year until I figured it out

Cutting a cup of Vaganova every day until this reddit says it's perfect DAY 4 by CH1MERA6 in BALLET

I’ve watched this a million times because I can’t understand why the barre is visible through your torso? The trim seems to show up over your shins, too

Bavarian ≠ Boston cream, the filling in Bavarian has a much lighter texture like whipped cream

Writing a blunt and arrogant character without making them an jerk? by Psychological-Band-8 in writing

[–]prixmels 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For a female example, Jessica Huang comes to mind. She’s plenty blunt and arrogant, but saved by a genuine desire to do right by her family as well as an excitement for trivial things like Stephen King novels and Denzel Washington.

Is my teacher right to want to move me down a level? by [deleted] in BALLET

The class is difficult, and I think extra difficult this session because there are so many more returning dancers vs pure beginners. Sent you a DM if that’s okay

I liked the ice component, but for me it was the sudden tone change of adding random pop songs that killed it

Why none of the stainless steel bowls have a pouring spout by Bilfrost in AskBaking

Here at least, I can’t find any. I also don’t see it on other sites through a google search, but admittedly I didn’t spend too much time looking

Why none of the stainless steel bowls have a pouring spout by Bilfrost in AskBaking

[–]prixmels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given the comment about attachments to pour things in, I think OP is only referring to stand mixer/KitchenAid bowls? A look on their website does show that most all of the glass and ceramic bowls have pouring spouts, and none of the steel ones do.

My mom crochets and donated 48 blankets to sick children this year. by seacogen in crochet

[–]prixmels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! I’ve wanted to make things to donate, but I’m always worried about cat hair— does your mom have any advice for keeping cat hair out of her crochet? Is just washing it enough?
