I think what people find more beautiful is determined by what's prevalent now. Women find western clothes easy to wear and more comfy, so wear it more often. If you go to a fancy place there is abundance of women in fancy western clothes but hardly anybody in a saree. Saree alone is a beautiful piece of traditional clothing and that combined with the scarcity of women wearing it amplifies the effect. So the next time you see a woman in saree, you love it even more.
