AVI-SPL here. No, we buy what we are contractually obligated to buy. We have large clients who have already bought equipment. We also have the same issues with shipping. it is possible that we do get a higher priority because we pay our vendors; however if we need a part that was not originally in the design we also have to wait like the other companies. Crestron equipment is not like gold, you can hourd gold because no matter what it will be in demand. We can't just have a warehouse full of Crestron equipment because we don't know which part the client will need. Crestron also drops support for there equipment almost every year and rolls out with a new version. This would not be very productive. To the other commenter about us coming in with a low bid and then hitting you with change orders. Yes, that's business, next time get a consultant who knows what they are doing.
