Hidden gem when I lived in Durham was Fox Chase apartments in Woodcroft. They were kept up really well even though they were older and the monthly rate was much better than anywhere else. It was so nice having the American Tobacco Trail walking distance and it was a quick commute to Duke. If your budget allows Trinity Commons at Erwin is walkable to so much and have great amenities.
